The take home:
1. Its light at 5:30am now!
2. Beautiful morning here too. A little crisp though, in the 40Fs.
3. Riding with the disc this week just to fully test everything, I really like the way the wheel rolls. It feels like it carries a lot of momentum and you're just constantly topping off speed. Pedaling is funner with the disc.
4. Feeling mighty on the bike right now.

:)

Saw that on Strava earlier. I thought that was awful early for a west coast person to be out.

#stalking

How many of these items will YOU have for breakfast this morning?

Extra dirty martini. Guilty. Oh you said breakfast, well it was late last night so sort of breakfasty.

I agree. As I remember, the corners were too sweeping to break the pack.

My breakfast starts at 11.

Will keep you posted...

I won't eat it yet for a couple of hours, but I've got my standard weekend breakfast packed in my bag for work: Bircher Muesli, which is uncooked rolled oats soaked at least over night in milk and mixed with shredded apple, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, dried coconut, cinnamon, salt, a little homemade vanilla sugar, and a little diced homemade candied orange peel. Topped with the berry du jour, which happens to be blackberries.

Although in truth I've already semi-had breakfast in that I had a recovery drink after my ride this am.

It freaks people out because the oats aren't cooked. But uncooked oats are weirdly sweet-tasting. The whole melange is really quite tasty.

Practical too, in that I can make up a batch on Sunday and breakfast is made for the week. I just grab a container and off I go.

Can't see any holes. Would they be hidden by the tire? Because I am not removing the tires (tubulars.) Also, it sounds solid I think, not water. And it is in both wheels. :(

Most wheel mfgrs don't remove the bladders from the molding process. Only the premium ones do this. Probably one of the bladders got a little loose. I doubt there's anything you can do about it.

Just remember, the stoker is always right.

Well, he did retire here in AZ a few years ago so he coulda had a huge decal giveaway. :)

Looks like the cranks are a couple teeth outta phase; I'm not gonna tell the stoker about that, just gonna save it for a rainy day.

I did find obits online for the couple that have their names painted on the boom tube.

This is #MetaDrama. Drama about reactions to (unknown at this time) other drama. @rpen, you've taken it to a new level. Uncooked oats are convenient and kinda tasty, but a bit messy if you grab a handful like you would with granola.

With two to go, they decided to attack while I was pulling, just as we were cresting the small hill and going into the nasty crosswind. I was not attentive enough and took too long to react. Got droped. Then the field caught me and droped me on the last lap. Takeaways:

- I'm glad I went. I ate way too much wind during the first few laps, so the practice was welcome so that I don't do the same this weekend.
- People on the break will pretend they are your friends, but they aren't. Do not trust them.
- For all the BF talk, those crabon wheels do make a difference, especially when launching yourself into the wind at 30mph.
- Doing an hour of sweetspot in the morning and then a crit in the afternoon is not the nicest of things that you can do to your legs.
- I'm out of stuff to say here. Wish I had ice cream.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

Didn't you *just* return a 70-200 because you didn't like it?

Since my wife started the biz, apparently 2.8 can't cut it anyways, so we're likely to be all primes soon.

We have the same issue, but with giant ants. We have a pest service, but unfortunately, they got bought out by Terminix, which sucks donkey balls. Takes like 2 weeks to get them out, and then who knows if it'll work well.

This is the second time in as many years that we've had a local pest service that we love bought out by Terminix, which is freaking terrible. They are a cancer on the industry.

The little lady and I rode it down to the park and it rides pretty smooth. Unfortunately the bike has the wrong shifters. Luckily I have the right shifters in the garage.

What else is there?

Now, there's the 5D4 and SL2. Yes.

Primes, man. 1.4 or go home...

Also, for SWA the new Art 14mm aspheric seems pretty amazing. Reviews are just now coming out on it.

The 85 art is amazing, but in that pic I posted you can see the axial CA a little. However, my wife already processed it, and I think she might have done something to exaggerate it (it doesn't seem to negatively affect the image). We'll decide after a couple weeks of appointments if it's a keeper or not. I'd hate to have to go to a much less sharp/more distortion lens like the 85L just because that issue, though.

Don't think I'll need the 135 or an 85, and that 16-35? Yeah, that's the bit I lack the skill for. Clutter clutter everywhere; a tight framing is much easier for someone with my utter lack of skill. Don't think I've ever wished for wider than 24mm. Or like twice. Might just do the 17-40L and save a boatload.

I mean, relatively.

I hated the 17-40L, and I'm not alone. That's an L lens that *doesn't* hold its value.

indyfabz 05-17-17 09:06 AM

I battled ants for weeks. Those bait "trays" take a while to work, but I think I got the best of them. I won't spray because of the cat. He's sick enough.

Did you have to chase them down? I mean seriously.....

I don't ride with my spectacles on, so if I see a two wheeled contraption ahead of me, the race is on. Once I get close enough to realize it may be a 10 yer old on a BMX, it's far too late. The rabid frenzy is already unleashed, and when this fireball blows by them, they're lucky to keep the rubber side down.

Good work, Men. I feel your joy.
