Back in the summer of '86 I worked in a beer and sandwich shop during college. One day a customer came in and said simply "Let me get a turkey and cheese." A guy behind the counter named Wiley said "Where you want that? In your hand?" That was somewhat gutsy considering some of the clientele that patronized the place. (The place sold crack pipes and related paraphernalia.) But Wiley was a big guy.


Another time two workers at the nearby Bryer's ice cream plant came in in their coveralls and hair nets and bought a crack cooker and a 40. When they left, the manager exclaimed "I'll bet you never look at a pint of cherry vanilla the same way again." Damn! That was the best summer job I ever had.

I was in Calella thirty years ago and was supposed to go on a tour of Barcelona to see the cathedral and a bull fight. Unfortunately, the day before was my 25th birthday and I drank too much sangria, stayed out until 3am when the bar closed, woke up in the morning late and with dry heaves and missed the trip. #misspentyouth

Had to get vitals taken at work today as a routine semi-annual thing. BP 113/77, HR= 66 after running around for 3-4 hours and a large cup of coffee. That's nice, already showing some improvement with the HR.

BTW...When I was in Barcelona in '84 I went to a bullfight. Not something I would do again. I left after the third bull.
