Only had a few seconds today to grab a shot of the intersection.
A number of weeks ago they started working on turning lanes here. First they worked on lengthening the oncoming left turn lane. That was probably a warranted project because there are often trucks turning there and it backs up.
So they worked on that for a few weeks, until it was about 80% done. And then the moved to working on the right turn lane to my right (not pictured). I don't know why they needed to extend that turn lane, because it doesn't back up much, but whatever. They worked on that for a few weeks and now it's almost done. They went back to the first lane and finished that except for the painting.
And now they have to do whatever it is they're doing in front of me (in the photo).
I didn't note when they started, but we've got to be going on 4-6 weeks now.
Like I said, in China they probably build 5 miles of highway in the time it takes a road crew here to work on 2.5 turning lanes.
Facepalm.

I have a nasty gouge on my knuckle from another such set. I think the chain ring got me. And then I wasn't healthy enough to use the bike. I'll go out today and put them back on. Who has a two car garage, and multiple vehicles and bikes, and keeps no grease around?

Weren't you the one I showed my power graph to with the 1200W spike? Don't make me repost it.

Last night, I prepped for a before-the-crack-o-dawn ride, serious cyclist style.
The wife always inadvertently wakes me when she nurses the baby at 5am, so I figured I'd get up at that time, get in a quick 20 miles or so and then get back before she leaves for work at 7am. I didn't announce these intentions to the wife, just as she didn't announce her intention to sleep in 'til 6am today, which meant that I wasn't woken until it was too late to squeeze in the ride.
Since I couldn't get in a ride, I figured that I'd go to the bakery, instead... I mean, the bakery is next to the bike shop, so that's gotta count for something.

Don't most places?
Rarely see any new bridges here, but that seems right. It took months for them to fix one bridge.

I ended up just swinging by the LBS yesterday and getting the cable and housing I needed. Everything on the TT is now as it should be. Tomorrow I will get out on it and see if anything more needs dialing in on the fit.

Oh, and he didn't charge me for swapping the shifters so I'll not be returning the bar tape I purchased and didn't use (old stuff was salvageable) even though I'm not super excited about the color. For some reason they only had black in the expensive stuff so I bought red and it's not a perfect match to the frame's red. I may or may not ever use this bar tape...

Cleaning up a 2005 version of Peachtree that had been managed by an HR person for years. This is for the self storage company which is a separate entity. I'm cleaning it up and then converting it over to QuickBooks Online. Our main ERP software is cloud based as well so after this we'll just need to move over one other piece of software to cloud based and we can retire the server completely.

After the Allez Sprint fiasco I have been looking at potential bike purchases. Looked at CAADs, Supersixes, Tarmacs. Still not convinced by anything. Might have to stick to the steel bike for the time being, unless some used, cheap frameset pops up. The only one that truly interests me is the Allied Alfa. What a beauty. But money.
