Started the new job yesterday at the little CPA firm. This office is great! The building we are in is part of a 5 high rise complex that is all connected via skyways. There are 4 or 5 restaurants, a hair salon, convenience store, florist, child care, and a caribou coffee all within the complex. Then there is also 2 gyms and a wellness center which is free to all employees within the buildings. The one gym is right down the hall from my office, so, I'm going to be coming in early (started this morning) to beat the traffic and get in my run here at the office.

Is this the place somewhere along those 494 'burbs?

I considered that, but it adds a bit of mileage and 42 through AV and Burnsville can be stop and go with all the lights. Yesterday I left at 7:00 and it took about 50 minutes today I left at 6:15 and it took 30 minutes, so as long as I stick to the early morning running schedule my commute will be shorter.

The Tour de Tonka ride that I did in the late summer was fun - they've got the right idea with staggering the start times and locations of the differing ride lengths. Most of the 100-mile riders were serious cyclists, so I didn't have to be quite so vigilant about dodging slow-moving folks or those that don't understand that they need to hold their line. Fast-moving groups and having police clear intersections for us was great and not something easy for me to come by. Still disappointed in the no beer at the finish line, thing, though. ![Not Amused](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/brood.gif)

So I spent most of last night in the ER for chest pains to go along with the gastric pain I've been having for like 2 weeks now.
No idea where the pain is coming from, but it's not a heart attack, kidney, or gallbladder related. Need to follow up with another echo next week.
All they found last night was a little fatty liver disease. Which is kind of odd, since I don't drink any alcohol. I come from a longish line of people to die from liver disease... but they were all major alcoholics (the reason why I don't drink). I don't think it's related to my current ailment, or too big a deal, but one tiny bit concerning, I guess.

As little north of you at 77th/Hwy100 is a Carbone's with great happy hour (5-7pm)- large pizza (any choice of toppings) and two beverages for 20 bucks - good for one fat guy or a two regular people. Dunno if they have any decent lunch deals, but wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, I guess. 494/55 can be pretty quick if it's open.

Why would I want to go outside for lunch when I can stay indoors and schmooze the yuppies?

Since I'm mean and thus ok to be trashed, I'll no longer bite my tongue on these issues.
The way you guys drive makes it a rich man's hobby. I fix my own cars, and never fail an emission test. All these issues you have, on a regular basis, which cost hundreds or thousands to repair or replace--I just don't get it. Your salaries must be ginormous. I'm driving 20 year old trucks, with engines and catalytic converters of equal age, and I have none of these issues.
Let er rip, all you haterz

The worst ever was the 5 Boroughs Ride in NYC. Something like 20,000 or 30,000 people when I did it one year in the 90s. So many people with no riding skills, including people weaving. I was on edge the entire time. At one point I pretty much had to skateboard for maybe 4 blocks approaching Central Park because of the log jam. Supposedly it's fun if you can manage to start way in the front. I wouldn't know.
