Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't know, I don't have osteoarthritis. But usually prednisone does its thing within 6 hours.

@Velo Vol
if I live until my 55th birthday, when are you going to invite me up your way to celebrate with a ride?
sometime in September when it's a little cooler we could do an assault on nearby Mount Mitchell or another place of your choosing.

we could make it a water optional ride.

(1) It's not "nearby." 2+ hours from here.
(2) I wouldn't wait for it to cool off much. It's cool at the top even in the summer.
(3) You've got to be in pretty good shape to do it. I've thought about doing it again, but right now I'm probably border line as to whether or not I could do it.

I need rain for my sod. The storms keep splitting around us with the north storms going to Chicago and Cleveland and the south storms going to Knoxville where they need it.

It's one thing to have a storm roll in and out. It's another to have days of lingering, hard-to-predict rain that makes even a one-hour ride a gamble.

@velo_vol I’ve never mentioned it before, but one of my grandsons has Ankylosing spondylitis. He was diagnosed when he was about 12 and it’s heartbreaking to watch him walk.
