Suppose an explanation is in order. April and May were pretty much work, then work to get the garden ready and not to mention had a few downed trees to clear. Went to Colorado beginning of the month to visit my sister and to be out there for nephew's 1st birthday. First full day there, my last remaining grandfather passed away in his sleep. When said trip was over, it was viewing then next day the funeral. So basically after that it's been get done with work head over to where my grandfather lived and help clean out where he lived. Things are finally starting to return to normal. What I did not know was that said grandfather served in WW2 and fought in the battle of the bulge, he would never talk about it.

My father who was a door gunner in the 101st airborne will talk about some stuff but not about others.

We rode day one of our men-supported ladies ride today. Beautiful route that’s not possible without SAG. Zero facilities on 95% of the route and certainly no water. So the men drove SAG and the women rode (hey, that division of Labor was their idea).
Such a beautiful route, we rode through Lockwood Valley north of LA, then along Mt Rose Highway to a little town called Ojai, northeast of LA. Open high dry meadows with sagebrush and wildflowers. Dry mountains and some piney forested mountains. Very little traffic. Sweet ride. 60 miles, 3000 ft climbing and 7500 feet of descending. Dogz came with.

Trip to performance is over. I got a new rear wheel and the same cassette I got in Jan or Feb for my other wheel. I also got a tire to put on it and a new rear derailleur. I rode this morning, cut one of my lawns before the rain and had lunch with Mrs. DougRNS. No coffee!
Here is my wheel. It is a mavic open pro with an Ultegra hub. That is a first for me. I run 105 or less in my low budget world that I live in.

I see that Pirelli has released a tubeless road tire. I'll have to keep an eye out for full-on reviews (only short hands-on reviews out there right now and all were conducted with tubes ). That they're being marketed as "armored" is not encouraging, but it's said that they rolled pretty well (and this was with tubes, remember) and had very good grip, so maybe cause for optimism.
