12x142 TA rear hub
On my road bike I have 12x142 TA rear hub with centerlock disc and 24 holes. When I was looking at the prices of these I was shocked.
Why are road hubs so much expensive than mtb? For example, shimano xt would cost 60$ (in bike24).

It is the roadie tax....although Shimano Ultegra hubs are still reasonable. Weight-weenieism is also a factor...
Seriously WRT the roadie tax... why do roadie bicycle tires start costing as much as steel-belted radial car tires...with a ton more material, and a ton more engineering? Because people will pay $90 for a friggin bicycle tire.

The new 105 R7000 disc hubs should be a decent price. Supposed to be out next month. I know the non-disc rear hub is suppose to retail at $60. Jejamescycles already has some R7000 parts on their website.

The main reason I was looking at rear hubs is because my current noname? hub (came with specialized axis wheels) is too freaking load and I hate that, I like silent hubs as much as possible.
On my mtb bike I was able to achieve silence by buying shimano xt hub, but on my road bike it appears there is no such solution, at least not for any kind of reasonable money.
I heard solution of greasing hubs but not sure if I can achieve this and also greasing has its flaws apparently.

As always...beware pulling things apart willy-nilly lest you cannot get Humpty Dumpty back together again. Especially if you suspect your hubs might have cones and not cartridges (some are still out there being made)

Cant you just get at mtb hub? Afaik 12x142 is the same no matter if its for road or mtb.

Freehub and cassette compatibility is still an issue at least going one way between Shimano 11s road and MTB, isn't it? I haven't had enough coffee to keep the latest flow-chart in my head.

Possibly. Now that you mention it, Im not 100% sure a 11sp road cassette will always fit a shimano style 11sp mtb hub.

The biggest problem was actually 24 holes on my current rim, while mtb hubs usually have 32.
