Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know approximately jack **** about computers, but I seem to remember that if you are exceeding the functional RAM capacity of the computer, especially by loading memory intensive garbage such as this site, it writes all that crap to virtual RAM on the disk, which takes forever.

FedEx came this morning, with one package instead of two. The one that didn't make it arrived in Merida a week ago today. I was upset. I asked the driver ..da hell? His reply? We have lots and lots of packages. To which I replied, But you're FedEx! Not the same company here as it is in your countries. Tracking still says it's due today, until 9 PM. I guess it just makes sense to send two trucks out instead of just the one.

PS when it's running super slow, the Task Manager shows 100% disk use, CPU is only 50% and memory 90%. I don't really know what that means other than the damn PC is effing slow.
It's not exactly a powerhouse PC, specs wise, but at the same time it shouldn't be performing the way it is. The free speed up would be fresh install of Windows. The considerably more speedy solution would be to also replace the hard drive with a solid state drive while you're at it.

I braved the elements to do some grocery shopping (well, that was the excuse - I just wanted to get out of the house). My wife was acting like I was putting my life at risk, asking me about contingency plans if the car didn't start and whatnot. Honestly, I've been out on worse days this winter. Yeah, it's was about -19° while I was out, but the air was calm and the sun was shining.

Yeah, you know how we do.

I sure wouldn't recreate in this, though - on a couple occasions that I took a deep breath, the cold entering the lungs was enough to force an abrupt and involuntary halt on that action.

But, I mean, other than not being able to breathe freely, it was pretty okay.

Oh, and all of the stores were empty. Loved that part.

Wife and I were out most of the morning. I think we’ve made it all the way up to -14° by now.

Seriously, it hasn’t been that bad though we did have a local town lose power. That couldn’t have been fun.

The super freeze is just blowing in now as I speak, accompanied by high winds and a snow squall.

Temp dropping and blowing like stink here too. It's going to take a long time to get my hands to un-raynaud when I get home. Something about driving. My hands freeze on the bike, but maybe my core temp is high enough that they recover immediately.

There are more than just the 3 main credit agencies. There are a few smaller ones out there that you might want to look into.

Unless you want to get a new card or buy a car/house on credit, there is no harm in just leaving it frozen all the time.

A couple weeks ago I saw a cyclist in shorts when it was in the 30Fs. No thanks.

SMH. This, and the SEC championship games, are the only games worth seeing in ATL.

My legs are a temple of the Holy Spirit and must not be exposed to daylight unless the temp is > 70° F.

I can ride at 50F. It gets cold pretty quickly below that.

You agree with my first knee doc. My current knee doc is more lenient at 60-65°.

In that range I might wear knee warmers and partly expose my luscious calves.

If I wear even thin tights at 65°, I'm absolutely dying! I reckon knee warmers and shorts might be nearly bearable.
