Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone here switch from Looks to SPD-SLs? I did this morning, first time riding them was on the trainer. The "click" as you step into them seems way less positive than Looks, so I feel like I'm unsure if I'm actually in the pedal. I tried them at the lowest and highest retention settings, same deal. Weird.

You did change cleats, right?? They are not really cross compatible.

All the Toupes I've had eventually develop the flexy shell syndrome with enough miles. I've had a couple crack on me too.

ORLY? I'll have to keep an eye on it, then.

The more flexy of the two is the newer. I think it's pretty comfy on the road, where (admittedly) just getting out of the saddle for 30 seconds every once in a while is enough to cover up all kinds of saddle sins, but being planted for 50 minutes on the trainer is a whole 'nother story.

Some might find this interesting, regarding the missed interference call in the NFC championship game.

"That the Rams did win, with an assist from somnambulistic referees, has not gone over well in New Orleans. The Louisiana governor wrote a letterof condemnation to N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell. The New Orleans City Council is considering a formal resolution declaring the outcome an “injustice” and demanding that the N.F.L. thoroughly review its rules. One of Louisiana’s senators has called for a congressional hearing on the matter.

Several Saints ticket holders have filed lawsuits against the N.F.L., variously claiming that they have endured mental anguish, lost the enjoyment of life and been defrauded by the league. A movement in New Orleans to boycott the Super Bowl involves the staging of competing events, vows by many bars not to show the game and pledges by many other bars to show, instead, the 2010 Super Bowl, in which the Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts."

I have had first hand experience with N.O. Saints fans. They are seriously crazy.

Speaking of old computers, our desktop is running VERY slow. It's running windows 10, specs are "AMD Athlon II X4 645 processor, 6GB RAM."

I don't know much about PC's but wondering if there is an easy way to speed it up or time to buy a new PC. It's approx 6 years old.

PS when it's running super slow, the Task Manager shows 100% disk use, CPU is only 50% and memory 90%. I don't really know what that means other than the damn PC is effing slow.

Spray a bunch of dry lube up in the fan vents. That always works for me.

It's confusing because we are only using 10% of the disk's available space but somehow the PC keeps wasting time on disk activity. I don't know enough about computers to know where the logjam is.

Should I post on PC forums??

I can't believe Brees was only 32 when they won that SB. It already felt back then like he'd been around for forever. Even if I weren't a Saints fan, I'd still hope he gets one more SB ring before he retires. The last 2 years have been brutal, definitely worse than missing the playoffs.

The reason I started buying 23s again is that I can't mount or dismount 25s without deflating them (on the rear). My bikes were made when 20mm tires were in vogue.

I've convinced myself that Superbowl is the reason the govt. is back open. Imagine the uproar when Atlanta airport is impassable in either direction Superbowl weekend.
