You will be less Fredly only when you push throughout to keep your total metric high instead of only pushing at the very end.
You will achieve zeroFred only when you follow your plan to the letter, even when you have juice left in the legs at the end (to be used tomorrow).
Chasing today's numbers without a plan is fun, but...

I was in the ER recently for headaches, and after the nurse took my BP she calmly went about her business. I had to ask what the reading was. She calmly replied 188/90. I was like (to myself) "Whoa, shouldn't you raise an eyebrow or something? Isn't this a problem? Shouldn't I lay down or something"? She replied, still calmly, BP is often elevated when patients are in pain.
Yeah, but still . . . seems to me she's been working in the ER too long. lol

mine was steadily going up over the course of a couple of years, and every time I saw the first doctor he was like “eh, it’s a little higher than we want, lay off the salt”.

All delivery companies suck. I have yet to find one that is truly dependable.

And, have you noticed that @datlas is the only one that ever brings it up?

Vain, But Lacking Talent
In the past, when an hour ride time increment was coming up, I'd push for distance over the last 4-5 minutes so that I could reach an arbitrary mph average for the ride. I realized today that I'm now pushing to reach an arbitrary kj/hour mark instead.
Does this mean that I'm less Fredly? Or am I as Fredly as ever, but with shinier toys?

Guilty as charged. I don't know why, but it really rubs my fur the wrong way.
I understand the "authorities' " need for something like this to keep inflammatory posts to a minimum, but it's really a blunt instrument and if you want to be mean there are plenty of ways to do so without using inflammatory words anyway.
That said, the dude abides.

Despite snow/ice piled up along the route* and an ailing foot, Velo Vol HTFU and earned a walking achievement.
I don't know what it is about this area, but recently I've been seeing people talking out loud to themselves. Saw two this evening.
Walk highlight: passed a house that still has its Christmas tree glowing in the living room.
*Outside the ice skating rink

OR . . . they could do away with the censor altogether and let everybody say whatever the **** they want. Then only the French shower-bags will be here and the forum will swiftly become just like the Saturn forum. Sounds like a plan.
All in favor???

I've long been a numbers geek and I think it becomes a detriment. With the PM on the Crockett now, I have a screen that has Power, Speed, Distance in three big windows up top with HR and Cadence in two small windows below. I wear a wristwatch (old school) for basic time keeping. And even with all that, I find that ignoring the Garmin is best. The most fun I had riding bikes back in the day was doing a set loop and racing against my wristwatch.

Maybe it's because there is a distribution hub at the Rockford airport. It's super handy most of the time if I buy something expensive and I don't want it to sit on my front porch 25 miles away when I'm at work. I've re-routed a lot of stuff there.
Unfortunately the new MTB frame did not give me that option . Must be a Bikeflights thing.
But my wife is off work tomorrow so she can grab it
