The ride to get to downtown is largely the same as my commuting ride, except the last 2 or so miles. No real reason to ride the same tired route again for that, unless I keep going to parts south of the river, where Strava chica rides. But you're talking 25 miles just to get to there. And in recent times I've been low-energy--not a high mileage rider like the Doc is.
