Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

@Velo Vol posted a bear in a tree pic so no, nothing new here. I did give up on my yard work and will have to finish it later. I still haven't ridden and it is dreary and I need a nap. Its going to take lots of motivation to suit up and ride.

I can’t agree with you here.

I’d much rather have a French pot at home.

same. Though I might just do it.
On further thought, I will not. Saturday afternoon is not a good time to be out on a bike. Tomorrow for sure.

No horn honking here, though the electrician and I shared a beer.

65F is about when I wish it was a little warmer.

85F is very comfortable, if it’s nice and dry. The other day it hit 99F, but it wasn’t uncomfortable because it was so dry. My 80yr old mother was doing yard work in that heat, and it didn’t bother her.

I'm good with that (and it's nice that in the actual HEAT most of the idiots aren't out), but I'm clearly faster in the 50s.

I made a faux pas on today’s ride. A fellow rider said he put 28mm tires on his other road bike. I said “can you believe some idiots do that and pump them up to 110??” He then told me he pumps them up to 120PSI.

Crap. I just learned a club-mate was riding home from a group ride (not mine) and was hit by a Comcast Van. He will be ok but has a broken pelvis so will be off the bike for several weeks. I had an unsafe pass and nearly clipped by one of their vans a few months ago. Sad.
