I've had 4 full size pick ups, 2 SUVs, and 2 wagons since I started riding. Most of my motorcycle hauling to the desert was in my 65 Chevy pick up. 3 motorcycles and 3 guys with all our gear, gas cans, etc. That was the best car I ever had. Bought it when I was 19 and sold it when I was 38. My ex didn't like it and I wanted a new truck, so off it went. It would be cool to have it now, but I say that about a lot of cars I sold.

My best car for bike carrying was the Subaru Outback with a Yakima roof rack. I originally set it up for 4 bikes, so the family could ride together, but nobody else in the family got interested. Now, I can carry one bike in the Dodge with the seats folded. The advantage is that I fee comfortable leaving the bike in the car while I'm at work, whereas I always brought the bike inside at work when I used a roof rack.

I haven't been on my bike outside since I bashed by face in almost 2 weeks ago. The base of my left thumb is still a bit sore from the incident. I think a MTB ride is still out of the question, but it should be okay on the road. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

I am not sure how in-sync our riding objectives will be, but I will be in Pasadena later this month and hope to get some riding in. I know you and big john are locals. Please feel free to share any tips or suggestions! One of my friends from SanFran plans to come visit us for a day or two and we plan to ride up Mt Baldy.

Early falling is classically associated with progressive supranuclear palsy and he’s the right age, but I guess he’s not falling yet.

I will keep it in mind. He is only falling if he runs. No run, no falls. His gait seems slightly short-paced to my eye, which also suggests early PD, but it's also possible that's baseline for him.

It's already bumping into too hot territory. I think my southern snowbird schedule will have to be just Nov 1 - Feb 1.

In 1993 I worked at a GMC dealer and bought a new truck for $11.500. It had a V6, 5 speed, and 3.08 differential, so it got better than 20mpg hwy. With a 34 gallon tank it had a range of over 600 miles. When we moved to snow country I traded it in on a Subaru for the wife and I got the old Tercel p.o.s.

There are 2 nice parks close to home. One of them is on the site of the VA hospital which was destroyed in the 1971 earthquake. The feds didn't want to rebuild it so they gave the land to the county and it became a park. Some of the olive trees are still there from back then. This area was once filled with olive and citrus trees.
It's a beautiful park.

After I'm done installing the current upgrades, it'll probably be a couple of pounds lighter. I'll weigh it at some point.
It'll be about as weight weenie as a fat bike gets, I suppose. I mean, a light fat bike tire is around 1100 grams, so WWism is kind of pointless.
