Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Altoona update:
NS 1580 was spotted near the turntable this week. After sitting in the dead lines for several years after being brought back to operation in 2016, it's currently being prepared for the trip to its new home. The 1580 was N&W's first SD40 model.

Understood. Lots of different uses, but I turf that setting right off the bat.

That was tough. I guessed twice just out of the blue, then I started concentrating on each individual puzzle, starting by the one I seemed to be closest to getting, by the time I got to the last word, I had all 5 letters guessed already, just had to figure out what they spelled. Maybe I'll try just one out of the blue guess on the next one.

Right. My strategy was crap until I decided on hope as a strategy, and that ended up being marginally better.

Im watching the Nor Cal youtube guy, I wish we had the pre season crit training series they have out in San Fran, I feel like I know nothing. I get nervous just thinking about it…….
I hear Larry Sellerz was doing those Early Bird crit practices, so consider yourself lucky!

Tried to kill my legs this weekend. 17.5km tramp with 770m of elevation gain (and loss) yesterday. 10.5km tramp with 1,000m of elevation gain (and loss) today. some of that up and down was rather steep. thankfully I work from home on Monday. no walking up and down steps required.

It’s a cool 16F. Gonna wait until later to ride, when it will be a sunny 20. Stupid winter.

We are going to be near 50° today but batten down the hatches! Probably ride anyway.

Yeah, this one was easier for me than yesterday. I would have guessed right the third time but went ahead and did a third exploratory word to see I caught a fifth letter.
