Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, honestly you gotta add a bottle for exercise. The idea is output, not input. If you're pissin' clear, you're good. But on a hot day outside 100oz isn't near enough to get there.

Yeah, there's some catch up involved at the end of days. It's less stressful than a kidney stone, though. On a daily basis it's not too bad. I count everything. Could be a soda or tea or milk (you can just add it in the app). Technically you could add at a specific water content, but I don't bother. If I leave work at 6pm at around 60oz it's usually pretty easy. Another bottle with dinner, and then a glass of wine and a little more than another half and I'm there.

I started this almost 3 years ago, by now I don't really think about it much now.

We'll see I guess. Bloodwork has been fine in the past, but I do believe they have some fasting bloodwork to be done in Oct already scheduled. I'll keep an eye on it.

I pay close attention to hydration because if I don’t, my newfound arrhythmia can be triggered.

In the winter or on days where I stayed indoors I'd need to put a revolving door on the bathroom.

My sister lost something like 40 or so lbs, and when we saw her it was amazing, especially considering that she was consuming all the baked goods within arms length. Then she collapsed at the airport on the way home, with very high blood sugar and very high blood pressure.

Mid afternoon lunch/dinner pre meal salad. It was Italian restaurant. You could say this is a scene from an Italian restaurant. No red or white just water.

And therein lies a bit of my problem. I have always haf a small bladder, and now that I'm ageable I really have to factor that into my hydration plan. For my 9:00 appt. the other day, I knew I was good until ten. Safe. But then I didn't go in until ten. Thankfully I had a little failsafe built in.
I have these lovely, square plastic Electrolit (tm) bottles. 625 ml each. Six or eight per day should be enough, not counting what I carry on the bike. In this summer's weather I've been consuming two bottles on a 35 km ride, even with pre-hydration

I took the 79 Trek out this morning, with a different front tyre. A beautiful ride, even on chipseal. Full Columbus SP. I'll likely take it tomorrow too, on smooth pavement.

yes. A consequence of trying to piss a lot is having to piss a lot.

I am eating more healthy, and significantly less over all. I don’t drink much alcohol right now, and have started like 3-4hr/wk cardio.

my BP is down 15 points and normal now.

it’s just… I have tried harder, done more exercise and ate even less in the past and only lost maybe 3# a week at most.

4.4 in the last 7 days is surprising as I’m only half assing it. But then again I can sleep now so maybe it makes a bigger difference than I thought.

I think most weight loss goes faster in the first few weeks, which I had put down to carb cuts shedding body water. But I don’t think that’s the case here cos I’m super hydrated at all times now. But I’m ignorant so don’t listen to my theories.

I’ll monitor. I expect it will slow down around 2#/wk. if it keeps up at this rate I’ll move the fasting test up with the doc and see what’s up. I’m not terribly concerned at this point.

When I got home yesterday evening, Mrs. GJ told me The Younger Boy had seen a bobcat on the fence between us and the neighbor. He told me about it later, and described a bobcat to a T - larger than a housecat, tail half as long, tufted ears. So, Dory is NOT going out unsupervised, especially at night!

Then I read that there was a mountail lion in San Mateo, 2 miles north of us, but WAY farther into the urbanized part than where we live (which is along a creek that connects to a large undeveloped open space), so I'm not even so sure about letting Rango out at night!

EDIT: Here's the Mountain Lion. TYB didn't get a pic of the bobcat.
