So, Larry, you've gotten more than enough advice and suggestions to find an affordable way to resolve your bicycle noise issue. If you cannot find a way to resolve this issue then you will simply have to survive those "classist" members of the group ride who are so insensitive as to complain about your noise.
SO your options are clear:
1) Fix the bike
2) Grin and bear the criticism from the group ride
3). Don't ride with the group, ride alone.
I'm closing this thread for your own protection, some folks around here are getting fed up with your dysfunction, and I can't blame them.
