Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

9 months. He started crawling last week. His favorite activity is trying to find a socket to stick his fingers in.

Swedish fighter pilots ride bikes out to their planes, they should have someone check their tyre pressures though!

I feel the need, the need for speed!

On my home computer I have a photo I took of a WWI Bianchi infantry bike complete with rifle mounted to a rack on the top tube. It’s in a museum in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. A must-visit if you are ever in the area.

I might agree. Generally dislike tan sidewalls but it kind of works in this case.

Yep. He was 83. Think about that for a second in the context of when "Rocky" was released (1976). That was 47 years ago. Young would have been in his mid-30s during filming.

Based solely on the performance, I'm sticking with Vittorias. I just ordered some black Corsas (Bike Closet has them for $35 a pop), so I don't have to choose between comfort and style! And if I decide to stick with the tanwalls, I'll keep the black ones for spares for the Bianchi, which is also running on Corsas. Italian bike, Itallian groupset, Italian tires.

I generally prefer Vittoria tires as well. Although I've had reasonable experiences with other brands as now. Trying some Pirelli's right now for the first time, non-tubeless (Pzero race 4s) with TPU tubes

I like round tires that hold air and cost as little as possible.

Who do I contact to return my addiction thread membership card? TIA

Oh yeah, but my NE family used to give me flack when I called the Albany area (so yours directly of course) "New England". Can't tell the difference as you drive between.

Absolutely. We put a precalc textbook in his hands when he started crawling. Next week we’re doing geometry proofs!!

Jokes apart, when my son got mobile AND verbal, it might have been the scariest day of my life…
