Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Surely they couldn’t manage it. I don’t know how they’re still in business.

I got into verbal fisticuffs with the chat at Bike Closet this afternoon. Trying to buy a pair of Assos gloves on sale, couldn’t get them into the cart either last night or this morning. Finally I asked his name, a number of times, suggesting his boss might not like hearing about the way I was being treated. His response? “I’m the owner, and I’m here helping you out on a Saturday. But you put up a sale on Friday; you should expect to work Saturday”. Anyway, he changed a setting so I could delete 1018 of the 1019 pair in the cart, and I was able to buy them. They did use the shipping address in Co for the billing and shipping address. Maybe Mastercard won’t catch it. Maybe they don’t care.
Kudos to Bike Closet. Though their customer service could be a bit more polite.

I’ve been tempted to do that, though my thought was to strap it to the rack. I have also thought about mounting sharp pointed steel tips on it.

If you do it, be sure to report your findings.

welp, in the ER since friday’s mellow ride.

i am looking forward to getting back on the bike someday, and it’s been great getting into a new community, but when i get home next week after some procedures i’m going to sell the road bikes. having them around is too tempting and too frustrating to see and not be able to use.

if i end up getting a transplant, i’ll definitely be riding … A LOT. so maybe i’ll be back on this thread in a few years. thanks for the hospitality and don’t let bam buy too many more bikes

It actually got here prior to 1:30, i was pleasantly surprised. I had home Internet in no time, put the desktop on Ethernet, phone and laptop on wifi (I'll get the tablet on later tonight) then went for a ride.

Now if the Dbacks could just put a couple or 3 runs on the board.

Sorry to hear. Best of luck going forward and I hope you have the best outcome whatever the docs decide.

Me, I wish.

Honestly not connected, picked up an F1 TV subscription today mainly for convenience and put on Spa '05 before bed. The V10s sounds so much better than the current ones.

I know the feeling. Remember non-riders are fully welcome here though! We'd always be glad to have you back or just hear from you.

I think I just saw a USPS truck going down the street at 22:15 on Saturday night and I don't recognize the world anymore.
