Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Both previous practices this month were canceled, and I'm skipping next week due to the following activity, so probably not.

We are going to see this next weekend: Rajaton Sings Queen - Dallas Symphony Orchestra

No practicing canceled to accommodate it though.

There’s an office here in Philly. I spoke with someone there and got an estimate of my benefit starting at age 62. The woman I spoke with was helpful, although a former colleague who retired a few years ago didn’t have a much luck. And back in the 90s I dated a woman whose dad worked there. He was a bit of a lush.

I've been sitting here in pretty ordinary NorCal January weather, hoping that Winter Armageddon doesn't notice me.

But, you know, better PA than Western NY!

I made a point of drinking more water on my ride today. I didn’t have to stop and pee, so I guess it’s all good. I measured my bottles’ volumes when I got home, and who knew? I carry 52 oz of water on every ride. The 28 oz bottle is pure water; the 24 has 50/50 electrolytes and water. And a liter pre-hydration. I guess I can consume 22 oz per 10 miles. My regular rides are 21 and 22 miles. 6-8 oz left over today.

I iced my knee @ work a bit, then did a pretty good hour on the bike when I got home. I'm a little looser and my knee feels much better. I'll be ok by Saturday I think.
