Old shop is in between mechanics at the moment and I’ve been working there on Saturdays to help out. Being the most experienced wrench has meant I get the complicated stuff or the more involved tickets that need an uninterrupted block of attention.

I saw a video the other day - NorCal Cycling - comparing 28, 32, and 34 mm tires.
Two riders, same route, swapping tires onto the same wheels, and then pumping them up to the pressure recommended by the Silca calculator. They went for pretty much constant power, same power for each run. Net result: 32s were faster than 28s. 34s maybe a hair slower than 32s.
So, it struck me that maybe the Canyon would be even faster if I swapped the 28s for 32s. Then I could run the 28s on the Litespeed, which is currently running 25s. The first step was to test the 28s on the Litespeed, see how they fit. I had a spare pair of regular Grand Prix's in 28mm, so I swapped one onto the rear wheel of the Litespeed, and.....no dice. it rubs the underside of the brake. Good thing I tried that one first, because I think the front has more clearance and I'd have ended up doing twice as much work as I needed to find out the same thing.

Madness.
City slicker alert.
Not in Jefferson City, either. However, if it does reach 60F in Knox County I will strip down accordingly.

I was expecting to get rained on, and was prepared for it, but never had to take my rain jacket out of my pocket. It’s been a steady heavy drizzle almost all afternoon here. If it’s not actually raining when I get up tomorrow, I’ll do a couple hours on the road. If it’s raining, I’ll do garage laps.
