Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My wife is cooking for me tonight.

As she should.

I'm wearing my bike helmet to dinner. Maybe two of them.

Not big on the bucket hat, but maybe I'm too old to like things ironically.

Post office lost my rent check. Landlord called last night and wanted to know if I was on vacation, (I'm always on vacation). Tried to call the P.O. no dice. Went there after filling out the on-line help request form and they said there is nothing they can do.
Called the bank last night to stop payment on the check and the nice lady had an accent so thick I could only understand a tiny bit of what she said. I think she said something about closing the account but I'm not sure. The whole conversation was an ordeal. Maybe I'll go to the local branch tomorrow and try to talk to a human there.

OMG, spotted in SE1 EP3 of Sick of It. Bad Photochop or do the Brits really have adult-sized Trail-a-Bikes?

How much does a taxi cost from JFK to LGA. 60 bucks. 10 miles

How much does a taxi cost to take you to the correct terminal once you arrive to the wrong terminal at LGA. (taxi drivers fault mind you). 22 bucks. 1/4 mile.

WTF. If I wasn’t racing to catch a flight I would have refused to pay. He tried to pretend like he didn’t speak english too, I heard him talking in english on his phone when I walked up.

I rode on Sunday in the rain.

Getting my kit together for tomorrow am, my shoes are still soaking wet. Like super soaking wet.

Wife thinks they will be dry by the am. My response, sure the first 64 hours didn’t do it, but these next 6 will.

Box fan on high oughta have em dry in 6 hours.

Humid East Coast air though? Might be a close call.

Renewed my season tickets for the D1 Owls playing in the competitive Conference USA. This year we are on the shady side of the stadium so we won't fry on the early season games. Also the wife is excited to hear the band better at halftime.

Of course my offer of a ticket and a juicy tofu dog still stands.

Only have one skull fracture, but can’t find my teeth.

She prepared a really nice meal that was a treat. Pre-dinner cheese with artisan crackers, med style shrimp with orzo dish for dinner, dark chocolate for dessert, and a nice Pinot Noir.

More of a F1 fan. Not that there’s anything wrong with making left turns.

12 Hours of Bathurst is this weekend. I'll have to break out the slide rule to figure out what date/time it starts in Mountain Standard Time however.

Mine made whitefish, puttanesca and an amazing basque style cheesecake with a recipe she came up with on her own.

Soloist frame arrives today. Still waiting on bars, stem and a headset top cap then I can start building.

wrapping the bike with ride wrap before building anything as well. Hopefully done by March when the weather gets nice.
