For a moment there I thought you were suggesting Colombian marching powder as a sinus remedy. Then I read on. Either would probably work though

Anyone know what NOS means on eBay? In carspeak it means more-better-go-faster, or mix it with helium for the ultimate party gas.

Indeed. New old stock for everything but Nitrous Oxide System's products. NOS for cars allows your motor to more effectively burn the air/fuel mixture achieving higher volumetric efficiency.

A couple of my old school friends put a 7litre V8 into a ford falcon. Of course they saw the need to add nitrous ahead of any requirement for a rollcage! On the inaugural test run they couldn't shut the engine off: the thing was ticking over on pressure of the NO bottles (yes plural). Once they got the flow regulated properly it was a dead set rocket.
Anyway they sold it to some guy in Sydney. He rang up the same afternoon to say he broke it. Apparently he'd put the foot down and left it there as soon as he hit the freeway. About brooklyn the C4 auto decided that enough was enough and locked up. The car did multiple 360's at very high speed. Somehow it didn't roll.
Funny

Hang on a minute Expat. I though NO was used as a displacement tool, like water injection, to effectively give you higher compression. Isn't volumetric efficiency achieved using something like a tunnel-ram?

You're just getting more complete [read powerful] burn out of that same compressed mixture. Of course, if you don't supplement the fuel, you burn pistons in no time.
[edit] back in my racing days (1968 Camaro, 327/4 speed/12 bolt rear w/posi 4.10:1 gears] one of the clowns I knew installed his brother's NOS injector plate upside down. Some sort of explosion resulted.

Cycling Central started last Sunday with coverage of the Sydney 1000 or something like that. If you miss a Sunday edition you can set your PVR to catch a repeat edition on Wed arvos at 3:30pm.

other way to do it is get a largish bowl, some table salt and warm water. mix the water and a large portion of the salt cup it in your hand and inhale, then as above blow it out into a tissue. seems to work well for me, my old man gets sinus a lot and he swears by it....
the only time it didnt work too well was when my sinuses were infected and i was blowing out blood, not the most comfortable sensation....

you guys have probably already read all this somewhere else, but......
...grouse interview with Cooke last night on SEN (radio). He said he was definitely gunna hit Bettini after that crash, but as he was approaching him, he saw all the Italian media swarming around them and thought he might spend the night in jail if he snotted the Olympic champion in Italy in front of 1000 cameras.
Cooke also said that his crash before the Tour was a result of his bike and chainrings being too flexy, causing the chain to occasionally come off. He continually complained to his mechanics to get stiffer chainrings, but they didn't really believe him. His chain came off at 65kmh during training, causing his crash. He had to scramble off the road with a truck coming the other way with its brakes locked up!
He quickly called the mechanic to abuse them, then, eventually ended up with track chainrings.
also a good interview with Josh Collingwood. He was in a lab at his uni one day during his retirement, and, with virtually no training, wearing runners with no toe-straps, got a VO2 max of 84 on a bike, so he thought he should start thinking about a comeback

Yeah....why not go and work for a radio station that's in receivership!!
I could, but the bike industry is very small in Australia...and populated by a lot of fairly massive egos I'd have an issue with. I'd last 12 months before walking away.
