Yeah Bathurst has got some good riding roads but a lot of very ****ty ones. Like the one I rode today out to Fremantle and back. Farking thing was never flat. Shat me to tears. You're right though. It is a good run out to O'Connell. Out to there then back to town through the Lagoon is my normal afternoon training run. At least it's got some flat sections. (Me likes flats).


Nah Mt Pan is a great ride. Straights aren't dull since you're either grunting up them wondering how you're going to go when it gets steep, or flying down them at a gazzillion miles an hour. Tip for those who get out to ride it, try going around it backwards a few times. The climb to the top is much harder, but the left hand corner that leads back onto mountain straight (normally the right off it) is a farking beauty! 80 km/h with the bike cranked over like a MotoGP bike. It's crazy fun. ;)

And have a good new years fellas. I rekon with a ride in the morning I might just break 5k for the year. :rolleyes:

BTW, anyone know how to capture an image of the graphs made by Polar software? Thought I'd post some pics of how much of a ***** I am, and how shitty some of the rides around here are. But the normal PrtScr then paste into some image software doesn't work. Farkin Polar. Who cares if someone who spent up big on their products wants to show people how lazy they are?

Saccy, if ALT-PrtScr dun werk then there must be a copy facility in the Polar software (right click on the graph). I've copied the graphs without any trouble, but that was so long ago I can't remember how I did it. I'll have a look tonight.

Crank'n it's 35 friggin' degrees outside. The only way I'm gonna keep cool on my ride home is if I manage to get a tow behind a refrigerated semi with its door open. :D Have a good one!

Hokay. Here's some sucky rides. This one is from Bathurst to Sofala, then up the hill out of the river, than back down again. The little spike in the middle was seriously steep riding up it, but doesn't look it there.

Next one is the ride I did today out to Fremantle and back. Annoyed the sh1t out of me since it was never flat.

A mate down in Sydney tells me about riding up the cetral coast and being able to go for hundreds of km with no hills. Wish I lived there. I hate hills. :(

we played last night in Rosebud, which is at the bottom of the bay (about an hour & a half out of the city), and we ended up getting roped in to packing up the whole PA.

Shortly after we eventually left the venue at 5am (!!!!!!!!!!!), a few lights popped up on the dash (not my car, thankfully); the temperature was a bit high, so we obviously pulled over.

We thought we'd just busted a hose (it was 43 degress yesterday), but the water pump pulley had sheared itself off and was just hanging on the belt!!!!

We told the RACV on the phone that we'd need a tow truck, but they insisted that they couldn't send one out without a service van guy first looking at the car. So, the RACV guy gets there, and the first thing he say is: "mate, you need a tow truck". Unbelievable!! :p


etc, etc, etc, tow truck, yada, yada, yada.......got home at 7:30am!!!!!!!

would have been a fun night. then followed by a hot day so you get no sleep.
The heat is unbelievable in Newcastle its still in the high 30's (its 9.30 now) and has been 44 today. Didnt get a ride in today so i'm gonna get up early and get a decent one in tomorrow.

I hope everyone is safe from the bushfires that have started today (especially in victoria and the central cost)

Looks like we need to organise a baton change between you and expat before he leaves. So whaddya say to a gentle ride around Newey next Saturday morning if its not raining? Stop at Leo's for melted crayons (read hot choccy) or vile bean juice of death (coffee) and some vegemite toast before heading out to do some hills. Expat lurvs hills. Specially after a big brekky. ;)

Speaking of riding, first ride of the new year sucked for the most part. Started out late due to NYE stuff, and the wind had already kicked in. Flatted in the middle of friggin nowhere with no shelter from the sun. Nice :rolleyes:

After fixin the flat was left with superheated water and gogo juice: blech! So had to ride for an hour with undrinkable bidons and mega-burning feet to get back to civilisation (McDonalds) to get some ice.

Only good point was averaging 71.6kmh on the flat through Rutherford. Gotta love a good tailwind. :D

What's gogo juice? And 71.6km/h average? WTF? :eek:
