I'll be there, so you can pretty much count on a slow pace. You and Jock have both ridden with me, so you should know what it's like. Either bonk or puke. Although I will try to remember to have something to keep my blood sugar level before we leave.

Depends on how Expat's training has been going, but the route will definitely be as flat as. I reckon we'll be lucky to cover 30km if we stop for any length of time for coffee or to perve on beach volleyballers.

I'm gonna put a speedo on the track bike and check max speed on entry etc.

Conditions were as variable as the results. Look at who you beat: Paul Worby, Peter Holly, Jackson Pratt. All lightning fast, but like you and me and a bunch of others not enough power/endurance to keep the legspeed up into the buffeting wind.

I watched Peter Holly's run from the back straight and he was dead-set flying for 150m. Then it was almost like he was doing a madison throw as the wind stole his legspeed with every pedal stroke. I couldn't believe how much impact it had on a big strong bloke like him.

Training? I'm not a user any more, only a collector. :(

Yep, I saw Holly flying and get a slow time, then Jeff came thru lookin avg and destroyed my time by close to a second !!!

Holly was spinning out his gear he reckoned, but on the 2 lap hcap when he gave me the lead out, I was waiting on him to get going, could have gone past him in the first couple of pedal strokes...strange!
u up for a training session tonight? track that is, not at the elli!

Depends on the weather. Was going to ride home, and on top this mornings amble from Berowra (30km in 0:48:38, whoop!) I may be a tad tired.

jock 01-11-06 05:22 PM

Cheers, big time, to you.

Dude I'm still laughing, I dont think I can go back in the shop and look the guy in the face.

I'd keep hearing hearing the Knightrider noise from the car...

Pretty good.

A lot of the trackies sleep in them for recovery. Get 'em and try!

jock 01-11-06 06:48 PM

Speaking of Turramurra, I did Bobbin Head with the peleton crew on Tuesday and asked when we were going to see them up at Ourimbah for a race. Seems that last season one of our officials said that we didn't like them coming up and taking all the (feeble) prizemoney, so they won't be coming back anytime soon!!! whoa.

2 counts of incredulous human frailty in one go.

Don't mention the friggin bling bikes! I was doing semi-OK on the steeper side, trundling along just behind the faster pack happy and content in my target HR zone on the training bike (read bloody heavy), two full bidons, visionstik lightset, three full jersey pockets... I think you get the picture. I'm sitting on about 19kmh.

Well some evil dude on brand new bling bike went past me like I was standing still. Bastid must've been doing near 40kmh, and he wasn't slowing down. Little farnarkler. But deep down inside I wish I could afford one of the stickers on his bike.
