All superheroes wear their clothes that way! Don't you?

jock 02-13-06 10:54 PM

Stepping away from the bike theme for a bit...

http://metacool.typepad.com/metacool...hed_gearh.html

I wish my Magna could do that. Just think, while I'm sitting bored as hell in gridlocked peak hour traffic I could get my kicks just watching the bonnet melt as my manifolds reach white hot. And all the while everyone within 20m inexplicably finds their ears bleeding while simultaneously discovering the reason why two bottles of red do not mix with half a case of beer. :D

Purile fantasy is such fun

Just got back from Tuesday night crits at Eastern.
My second race, this time in D... much betterer.
Stayed in the top 5-6 most of the time, sat at the front for a few laps and eventually got my arse kicked by going out way too soon after the bell. Still managed to claw my way back up to 6th in the final sprint :)

Now I know why those blokes that were hanging around the back of the pack the whole time

Dont get sucked in, keep taking turns and driving the pace. Those bludgers will get the message when their off the back and your'e winnning races moving up the grades!

The five survivors of the crash in Germany that claimed Ami Gillet's life will be on Australian Story on the ABC next Monday night (20 Feb) at 8:00pm.

Good idea to stay up near the front in D Grade. And don't worry about making little mistakes like that: just make sure you learn from them!

climbo 02-14-06 06:06 PM

poor bastard...

Davitamon-Lotto's Nic Sanderson has been forced to prematurely end his cycling career due to a mild form of epilepsy. The talented 21 year old Australian sprinter won't be riding for the Davitamon-Lotto team this season, agreeing to have his contract annulled because of his medical condition.

ed073 02-14-06 06:15 PM

very sad.

jock 02-14-06 06:23 PM

I would have thought the quacks could provide some form of medication that would take care of that. Maybe there was more to it.

HDTVKSS 02-14-06 07:05 PM

it probably has to do with insurance more than anything, if he has a prediscovered medical condition, they know about it and he comes down and hurts himself or somone else then it owuldnt be good for anyone involved.

still feel for the guy, promising career ended due to osmthing totaly out of his control :(

62vette 02-14-06 07:32 PM

That sucks for Sanderson, but I think the insurance thing will be what buggered it up.

I was all but signed up with a pro-team till they discovered I am a 43 year old fat bastid on cholesterol medication. That and the only cycling race I have won was the sprint to the beer tent. :D:D:D

Morris Iemma visited our office today to talk to the kids on the School of the Air (because it went 100% satellite based interactive multimedia computers instead of UHF radio).

One little kid (about 9 or 10 yo) was asked what sort of stuff they get up to outside of school.

Answer: "Oh, just the usual stuff. Help on the farm, ride my motorbike, and I've got a new paddybasher: its a V8!!"

Concerned Minister: "That's a bit different to what city kids get up to, don't you think?"

Answer: "No, I don't think so."

Kid must read the newspaper :roflmao:

Mcewen's thinking, this was not written into the fine print in my contract, was it?

jock 02-14-06 09:03 PM

Davitamon: just a bunch of clowns!

So Robbie sees the full handiwork. I attempted on putting a nose on him, but it did not look as good.

Good work. I suggest you aim for the top next. Merckx or Armstrong
