Im against the rego idea, next would be toll bike paths.
Its obvious the RTA/NSW govt dont know how to look after the state especially in the transport department

These news articles jusy hype it up a bit, make it look horrible but it's not really that bad.

Yeah on occasion.

I've ridden in Vt, Ma, CT, RI and upstate NY and never had real drama at all. I never did ride in NJ though ... might just be a bigger city thing, where I am it's probably a smaller town than Newcastle and I've never ridden in a city as big as Sydney ... and I ride away from it ... my commute takes me away from the city ( I live in the city and work in the burbs )

yeah, well you'd probably hate Sydney riding then, compared to suburban CT it would be a menace. You live in the city and work in the burbs, that's strange, but lucky if you go against all the traffic every day. What part of CT ?

On the wat to work today I spotted a man in joggers, what appeared to be king gee shorts and a tee, and an old helmet riding along on a brand new black C50, fully deck ed out.

Then a woman in all red assos, top, shorts, gloves & socks with joggers on riding along on a carbon fibre giant, with a mountian bike riser bar set-up.

Eastern Suburb madness.

Sold a bunch of old bike bits on ebay this week and made $1200, here comes track bike.

the king gees, classic !!!

Brian 02-23-06 05:21 PM

I'm wearing my King Gees today, but not doing any riding. :( A couple more weeks, a couple thousand dollars, and I'll have my bikes here...

Thylacine 02-23-06 06:27 PM

You guys should not be reading the Sydney Morning Herald. Next you'll be quoting Alan Jones as some pillar of wisdom.

Bottom line - we're the most over, taxed over regulated western nation in the world, and taxes and levies just go into one big coffer. Your rego does not pay for roadworks. The government decided how much it's going to spend on roadworks depending on how much we whinge about potholes.

That is all.

God people are stupid. :)

Brian 02-23-06 06:38 PM

Go Tiger!

Everyone cross your fingers for us. We're trying to get into a 5 bedroom 2 bath home. Repayment is about $600/month. And taxes are lower here too. :D

and what about the garage? How many cars side by side with all doors open?

Thylacine 02-23-06 07:43 PM

Where is this? Utah? Is that one bedroom for each wife?

jock 02-23-06 08:40 PM

Status quo in Tour of Cal after today's run along the coast. Would've been a brilliant ride to be on!

jock 02-23-06 08:41 PM

Hey, who insulted Ed? only a handful of posts in two weeks...

Dude SMH is a fairfax publication its about left wing as you can get for a mainstream publication. So its the opposite of Alan Jones.

If you were reading a PBL publication by itself I would be a little worried.

finally found a house expat. Good on ya

probably two because the cars are so big :D

probably 8 falcons or commodores nose to tail across the width of the garage

Brian 02-23-06 10:22 PM

Hmmm. Let's see. No, no beach volleyball. But getting a haircut at Bikini Cuts runs a close 2nd. Sadly, the house only has a 1 car garage. But that extra bedroom is for the bikes. Tiger, what man is his right mind would want more than one wife? It may be the only the they have right, but at least the French know how to do it properly. A mistress is easily discarded, and won't cost you a house and half your super. Back to the car/garage thing now. Kotter, not only is our car tiny by anyone's standards, but there aren't and Falcons or Commodores over here. The do sell the Monaro with a GTO badge, but it's quicker than the Aussie version due to the exhaust re-routing giving it a 15hp boost.

That's all I have to report today. Oh, Amgen's been copping it for sponsoring a race. Hope that doesn't affect their stock price.

531Aussie 02-23-06 10:29 PM

what about the current, balmy 1 degree C (37F) temp in SLC?

And a 'springly' -3C in Bryce Canyon...........yummy

The commodore/falcon idea is for comparative illustration purposes only!

The GTO got canned in the states as well. Too expensive to re-engineer for the new US airbag regulation. For that type of anyway money I would take a wrx/evo9/alfa gta instead!

You terminate life using a machine designed purposely for that purpose, and from the ultimate position of strength - you cannot be stopped - a simple finger operated switch turns off a life like extinguishing a light.

An entire generation has been made immune to the the reality and consequences of this, and similar actions (many people are scared of needles - 1/10th mm diameter and sharp - oh how pathetic!! - they rarely think of a bullet as a needle, 10mm diameter, blunt, and doing Mach 2!!!!).

How much of a leap does it take to tranfer this into a car - to sit completely enclosed and unassailable in a steel cocoon, a position of absolute power, the decider of life and death, at least for those weaker than you like cyclists. To buzz a cyclist in a car is a demonstration of power - "see, I can kill you or let you live - my choice - and you can't stop me". **** is a crime of power. Assault is a crime of power. Firearm murder is a crime of power. Buzzing cyclists is a crime of power. What they all have in common is that they are done from a position of absolute safety - the coward's position.

Man, that sounds like an intelligent post. No worder you idiots ignored it. :p

cant be stuffed discussing it. But the bit about drivers sounds about right for 4wd owners. They are just crazy

Odin 02-24-06 12:00 AM

Hey Oz, you were right. Got my hands on some Giramondo stuff the other day... new bibs and jersey.
Damn those bibs are nice...
