hey Willy, saw Tony the other day, he's doing the DW100 also, and he's doing the NZO 24hr thingy. He gave me a deal on a helmet so now I'm Aussie standard helmet approved. :)

Think I busted it with a stick. Dropped the chain off the front, stopped, put it back on....3 seconds later, I hear a *twank* and my chain is busted and so is my rear derailleur! I tells ya, those Rohloffs are looking pretty good right about now. Pity about the weight, price, and dinky twist shifter.

Pshaw, yer a bit too short for my demo singlespeeds, which is a bummer. I should do one for all the average guys out there one of these days. Maybe when I finally find a cool warehouse to set up shop in?

Just got back from the doc about these bites. Came this close to chucking my bickies - ended up having to give me some local and attack them with a scalpel. Should've seen the one on my wrist....it was the pus version of Mount Fuji!

Just let me know if that's TMI, okay fellas?

:roflmao:

Tiger boy, was it a SRAM or a Shimano derailer? if its SRAM its the 3rd unit i know of thats had a stick - shortend lifespan. they seem to be prone to it for some reason.

since you guys do a lot of track racing, do you ride fixed gear on the streets?

climbo 02-15-06 11:00 PM

used to, yes, did it a lot when I commuted in NJ.

why do you ask?

Thylacine 02-15-06 11:02 PM

I don't ride track, but my 'townie' is a singlespeed. Think most of the trackies on here would be too old and too sensible to ride their track bikes on the street. :P

Now this is funny !!

AMERICAN rocker and writer Henry Rollins was reported to the National Security hotline during his recent Australian tour because of a book he was reading on a flight to Brisbane.

A furious Rollins was informed he was "nominated as a possible threat" for reading Jihad: The Rise Of Militant Islam In Central Asia, writes Kathy McCabe.
The incident happened on a flight from Auckland on the recent Big Day Out tour.

Rollins told Australian fans during his tour that he received a letter from a "nice woman" who worked "in one of those government areas that deals with anti-terrorism matters."

He posted the letter on his website.

"Please tell your Government and everyone in your office to go f... themselves. Baghdad's safer than my hometown and your PM is a sissy," he wrote.

Might have told this one before, but here it is anyway....

I was doing the Akuna Bay run with the Peleton Sports lads on Saturday. At the end of it there's a high speed paceline down Mona Vale Road, with a three nasty little hills to sort the legs out. We caught and passed some geezer in a WC shirt and he was riding a fixie.

Well bugger me if he wasn't there at the end of the 10km run, waving goodbye as he SPED OFF into the distance

Does anyone else find the visuals of a group of fat old Yank Polies, running around with shotguns shooting Quails just a little disturbing?

Could be worse. Could be Southern rednecks running around with shotties asking you to squeal like a pig

You did indeed. But don't be expecting any miracles. This year is a building year.

The 5+ team has been hard at it, trialling all sorts of configurations and scenarios. The 234 team, on the other hand, hasn't completed a single full distance run. In theory we can hold gold medal pace, but when you apply a liberal dose of reality we won't stand a chance. :)

Next year we'll try to organise riders at the start of the season and put a bit more effort in. Brave words I guess.

Sounds good! He was trying to get me on the Kona Unit SS he's got in there
Pretty cheap compared to what I have been looking at.

Well all the luck to you mate, though my loyalties you understand, have to be with the Waratahs. ;)

Yes I heard Scarfey has had 2 from 4 (flatting twice) on a GTR1 :D After almost having to be beat up to ride the thing, he now recons it's a great bit of gear. Guess I can't blame the wheels now can I? :o

Na it's Dale getting the FG Lite Bianchi not Brad, and only till his new C_dale arrives which will religate the Italian mount to a trainer. In any event the GT has done the job so now I gotta get me finger out. :D
