the 61cm is still only a 59.5 TT so pretty short. You'd be looking for about a 62 TT - huge.

Our other human headline is at it again

Even though Jana Pittman is a pain the blurter, at least she has actually won something at an international level. The other one can't even make a friggin' final. What did Nick Bideau call her? ' a model who runs occassionally' or something.

You can find plenty of entry level track bikes for under $1500. Felt, Raceline, Avanti, Fuji, etc make a range of bikes that suit most people. One guy in our club is over 6' and rides a new 60cm Felt. very happy with it. I ride a Raceline and its doing fine by me. There's plenty out there.

Bikecology in Gosford 02 4325 1400 have had a 60cm Raceline frame hanging up for ages. Got it in for some guy who said no when one of the measurements he took was out by 2cm. You might be able to strike up a deal with them to get it off their hands.

Head down to your local track on race night and suss out the tall guys riding new bikes. Ask 'em questions, maybe even ask 'em for a try on their bike :) Just don't crash

was_bmxer 02-07-06 07:02 PM

Yeah, huge top tube. That is the killer. My road bike has a 61 or 61.5cm tt. Was a pain in the rear to get them to make it. They (columbus) would not do it for warranty reasons, that was what I was told anyway?

My legs and upper body is in proportion, huge in both. I was 6'3" at 13 so I have never been "off the rack" that I can really remember anyway. At least with a BMX you get a long TT, stem and cranks and you are good to go.

was_bmxer 02-07-06 07:04 PM

Thanks jock, I may check that raceline out.

I have been out to the track, not to many folks my height 6' 5-6". S Campbell (computer) is a bit smaller than me, but his bike is already too small for him otherwise I could prob ride that.

schweet. just put them into the racing calendar. was tossing up deciding whether i was going to race MWMTB or CCOMTB, CCO wins purely cause i love the track and also cause they run much deeper into the year. the 6 months of racing that most clubs have come up with is a joke.

can also win over the misses by telling her that once a month we can go on a " holiday" to my parents place on the coast.... ill be back sunday mid day ;)

exactly, 6 months is nothing, MTB riding/racing is year round anyway.

spectateur.....on TV...the Ch 10 highlights about 2 weeks after the event. I had a BBQ with my GF and some of her mates. Wasn't too impressed that I was inside shouting at the TV.

Pisser....

I was mates with Damian Grundy when he ran Bike House back in the early 90s.....told me one day about "This young kid I've found in Lower Plenty who can just ride the arse off anyone." The rest is history, as they say.

thunder 02-07-06 08:50 PM

Tasmyn has got to a world champs final I think. Atleast one. Porbably came last, or no better than second last.

That translates into gold in the pool. See the media go ape over Brooke Hanson's multi gold at world short course. That standard is comparing bay crits to the Tour.

Bay crits < Tour = Shortcourse swimming < le tour

The only reason we go nuts over swimmers is cos they bring home a shiny colour medal, yet their "pool of competitors" is as small as the nation of Burkina Faso. Tho the tour de Faso is a hugly esteemed event, where smart neo-imperial Belgies running 2005 Ridleys and dura-ace, are running agianst riders on vintage Gitanes on suntour gruppos.

Hell Ride > Tour de Faso

P.S not a fan of Tamsyn, was a fan of Pittman PD (pre-drama). I think both her coaches, King, or whatever his name, who owns KingClub Re-Creation gym in Sandy, he put on far too much muscle on her. And Rawlinson obviously prefers Wrestling matches to sex, or kinky wrestling sex and has not got her to strip off all that extra weight. She is far too heavy.

Phil King was her coach, evereyone knows he is married to Debbie Flintoff.

ed073 02-07-06 08:52 PM

Jana PD.....that's gold!

Ed you say he won, but he never had Aussie rings on his cuffs before 2002. Or did he. Never rcall them on the Rabo or Farm Frits and domo

classic1 02-07-06 09:06 PM

That's a bit harsh thunder. :) Surely you know that Brooke Hanson, Tamsyn Lewis and Jana Pittman are the greatest Australian atheletes ever. In comparison, Bradman, Dawn, Phar Lap and Herb Elliot suck.

Everything those media hoes do is so newsworthy it deserves FRONT PAGE COVERAGE! I wish they all just SHUT THE FUDGE UP!

ps the Swimming World Short Course champs are the worth less than even the Glenview Crescent Crits. They get more Olympic and world champions at Glenview Cres.
