About 15 hard core athletes hit the track for a very social night of racing. Juniors, A+B and C+D for most events. PShaw was there and collected a couple of placings. Southerly caused havoc in the main straight.
Flying 200's were hotly contested, with Cass Kell showing plenty of speed and strength to head the field for right up until the last couple of riders. Time's were pretty slow tho, with the wind taking its toll on most ppl in the last 50m. Grant Fraser blitzed it by spinning silky smooth on 87" gearing. Reverse Italian was the highlight of the night, where we must've hit a massive 30kph at one point. Would be a good warm down with a bunch ofC Grade riders at the tail. |

Got a couple of 3rds, then it went flying 200, all-combined miss & out then weird reverse Italian. Was pleased with 13.97 for my first 200 on a windy night. :D |

Apart from the colours, it sounds like it's a good investment. BTW was_bmxer, my mates like the rest of us...he wants it yesterday, so I don't see him waiting. I will tell him though. |

Also known as a hook wrench, but it's made specifically to replace a chain whip. So it could be called a chainless whip. Who knows? I haven't had much success trying to find one elsewhere. |
Oooh. Never seen one of those before. Don't know where I can get one, sorry. The curved end looks like the titanium spanner that came with the tandem. Maybe Climbo knows of another source in the US?

Eddie Salas rides (and sells) Orbea so they can't be too bad. |

Because it wasnt in the Park/Wrench force/Pro catalog... it didnt exist  |
If the markup is big, it's worth my time trying to locate a few of them. But if the dealer price is close to retail on that oddball tool, I'll have a hard time getting someone to make me a deal on them. I'll ask around, and see what I can come up with.

Weather is looking less than good for racing this weekend. Hopefully the storms will bugger off for the track racing at Newcastle. I cant wait to get back on those concrete walls.
|
Did I mention how many track bikes I've seen at work? There's heaps of you nutters around. And a guy in last night looking to upgrade the wheels on his $7500 Cannondale. I would have thought the motor is a better place to look for more speed.
