Blijlevens was the star back then.....his car was actually surrounded by fans before he could get out. But all really polite, repsectful, knowledgable Dutchies. I took a couple of photos like a groupie.

They were just polite coz they knew Blijlevens would go ape shirt and challenge them to a stoush on the Champs Elysee.

Mind you, i think theres quite a few that would love to have a go at Julich.

Bludy hell! I haven't even left the country yet, and you guys are back to talking about nothing but bikes. Geez. I'm pretty sure cricket was on today...

mrkott3r 02-07-06 12:34 AM

pretty sure expat? You werent watching it. Well SA got smashed. Which is good because I dont like SA because of Tony Greig. Yes I hate a country because of one cricket commentator

classic1 02-07-06 12:37 AM

Tony Greig is great. How great? He gives you a perfectly good reason to hate two countries.

Good time by Jamieson! Shame Phil couldn't replicate his recent 4:29 form to be in the hunt for a ride off. How's Dale going?

Got it on DVD. Well worth watching.

Basso's phone call with Lance about his mum's cancer is very touching.

No way....I'm sure that year they went out over the Westgate to the You Yangs etc.....was a really hot day. I'm sure Robbie put the front group into the hurt box on the way back over the bridge. Unless I'm having a brain fade?

I played at the Romsey Pub about a month ago........hmmmmmmmmm:p
Not as feral as some of the Frankston gigs or the Kalkallo (worst ever)

Franks-ganistan.

One morning on the Hell Ride, we were coming back through Frankston and someoen had been capped outside the 21st Century.....you could see the sheet over the body and everything.

Lovely.

Dale was 18th in the IP. He's got a few more events to come.

Thats the one. McEwen was still an amateur. He had a crook guts, took a dump out the freeway somewhere, got back on, then got in a break with Stevo and I think Serrano and beat them in the sprint. They did the last 40km or so at the gardens

Hey Ed , was the dvd purchased locally ?

was_bmxer 02-07-06 05:29 PM

Hey Climbo, what track bike do you ride? I really want to start riding the track, problem is I am 195 cm's and weigh around 95kg's. I can't find anything to fit.

Anyone suggest something? I looked a hillbrick's, but it's more or less $2k for a custom Zonal Alu frame.

climbo 02-07-06 05:54 PM

this beauty...

http://www.bianchiusa.com/typo3temp/efcaac06fd.jpg

what dimensions are you looking for? it's not easy finiding a production track frame for your size.

classic1 02-07-06 06:37 PM

Chrome track bikes are cool. You can check how your hair looks in the toptube while riding along. If I could grow hair I'd get one.

was_bmxer 02-07-06 06:43 PM

I ma not 100% sure really. Spoke to a guy I know on saturday's ride and he wasn't sure as he has been out of the track riding for too long. Not up on current theories. I have always put it off because I didn't want to buy another bike, as I could never borrow one to try it out.

May just have to do it and see what happens. I just want to avoid buying things and finding out they were a waste of money. I have until next summer though in reality, should be able to get a good frame then. Mate is currently working at Precision cycles down in the sutherland shire, starting his own wheel company and is a really good mechanic. I know he will help me out, but it won't be cheap like it want it to.

I think the Bianchi goes up to a 59cm? bit cramped for me

jock 02-07-06 06:50 PM
