Kotter, good site and they have the Re-Load courier bags
http://www.cheekymonkey.com.au/ go to the Transport site, check in the news section for the bags, also you can check them at http://www.reloadbags.com/ I have the courier model with 3D pockets and it's HUGE !! |
I hooked Kotter up with a bag yesterday. Something a bit like the Deluxe or Civilian. At $25, it should serve him well for quite some time. Mine is 2 years old and looks new. He recognized the brand (LeMond) from Banana Boy's bike. That tells you something about Lance, when an 18 year old isn't familiar with LeMond.
(not taking the piss outta you, Kotter, so don't be hatin') [edit] I found a photo. Comparing the prices in the US, he still got a good deal. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.gif |
good job !

One less thing to pack. I ordered two, and they turned out to be really nice for the price. They have a pocket in the flap that you can get to from the external zipper, plus all sorts of room inside, and a bunch of smaller compartments. There's also a chest strap and mobile phone holder. I'm using mine for our docs and a laptop when we fly.
|
does it have a chest strap?
|
Does that answer your question? :D
|
thanks expat. I got it to fit pretty well last night. Its about the right size for uni, can get some books in there and still have enough room for emergency repair stuff.
I googled LeMond and came up with that he was the first American to win the Tour in 1986, then his brother shot him (keep away from those Hunters expat:) ), then he won the tour back to back in 89/90. |
He's won a few races. Miguel Indurain was his rival for a while, if I recall correctly. The two of them accounted for a lot up until this Lance guy...

I have to admit, Bill at Torelli has so much useful info on his website. Here's a link to the tour winners, 1903 to present. Plenty of other good stuff on there too.

Anyone played with Hutchinson Quartz? Any problems I should know about, like running them 30psi overpressure is a bad idea?
Rode on them for the first time today and the feel is so different to the other crap in the same price range for training tyres. Better feel for the road, no squidginess, even felt good in the wet green (unscrubbed). |
"The Hutchinson Quartz Road tire uses advanced rubber technology for increased cornering grip and durability for touring and high mileage riding." ;)
mmmmmmm |
doesnt every tire brand say that about all their tyres all the time though
|
Yup, and I think climbo's "mmmmm" relates to the fact that it's almost impossible to get both durability and high grip from a piece of rubber. Maybe the durability they speak of comes from the 3.5mm of cloth and rubber at the centre of the tyre  It'd take a while to wear that much rubber down!
|
Ahh, now I see the problem. Climbo was in the condom section of the Hutchinson website :D
|
Melbournians - need help to find a decent B&B or Hotel in the city for the Comm Games for a couple of nights. Most of the big hotels are doing minimum stays on the weekends and are packed. Know any cool places that aren't on the "tourist" map ??

A bit off topic, but I thought I would let everyone know about the Australian Cycle Messenger Championship to be in Sydney from 28 -29 January 2006. Riders from all cities and styles are welcome to join in the fun and festivities.
For more details, go to www.sydbma.org and follow the links. It is going to be a trial run for the World's in October and so we are throwing big party and the prizes are going to be to ride for. It is rumoured there will be Phil Wood hubs and BB's up for grabs along with some very special Velocity rims and a one-of-a-kind Crumpler bag. You have to be in it to win it!! Smoking Joe - smokinjoe689@yahoo.com.au or 0405 104 929 is the contact point for all the details. See you there... |
see Kotter, we were just talking about it on Saturday and then BANG, all the details come through to you from all directions. I can't make the Aussie ones but have the World's dates in my calendar.
|
What topic? Did someone let a topic loose in here? :roflmao:
Thanks CTA. climbo's been revving us up about the WCMC for the last couple of days. Good to see an Australian Champs event on too. Any TV coverage likely? Even a tidbit on the MT show? |
