I have been in the habit of eyeballing my physician colleagues' online bios, just out of curiosity.
I have noticed the ones that state they attended a "prestigious" medical school and/or residency and/or fellowship are typically either mediocre physicians and/or narcissists.
Coincidence? I think not.

I anticipate being a bit busy tomorrow so I am doing my early FF submission. Fun little MMW track with a repeated organ breakdown that is pretty sick.

Tomorrow I am riding the trainer and then working a short work day (ideally just a few hrs) before Liz, Lilly and I are going on a mini family camping trip. Only a half hour away, and has amenities like 24/7 hot showers, playground for kiddos, more campground activities, that sort of thing.
Usually we like to get more "out there", an hour+ into the 6,000' mtn air at bare bones forest service sites. But I think this will be low key and fun. My parents are visiting on Saturday and bringing breakfast and lunch so we will barely have to cook (and do associated chores).

SW Ontario report: sometime in March/April to sometime in late November/early December around here. Much depends on the timing of the onset/end of snow and ice. That is the variable. Of course, there are those who ride throughout winter. I am not among their number.

Is there a serious aura in the shop?

After a week of chasing authorization I finally saw a podiatrist today. He suggested surgery but said in my case he wouldn't push for it because it could heal without surgery. Now waiting for a boot, Air walker, or something. He said 8 weeks off the bike either way, by far my longest time off since 1988.
I go back in 3 weeks to see how it looks, at which time surgery could still be on the table. It is the suck.

Fell asleep last night around 6 pm, woke up this morning severely dizzy. Slept all afternoon. Feel like crap, can't quite put my finger on it.
Oh, yeah, I remember now; that's why I have that bandaid on my arm. Covid shot Tuesday afternoon.
Good bandaid, survived two showers.

If you're like me, when you're told you need X days or weeks off the bike, you ask what date that started.

Speaking of The Suck, headwinds are The Suck.
With the April C&V ride coming up on Saturday, I unearthed my trusty Centurion Ironman, which has hung forlornly since last August. Gave it a quick dust, attached the relevant accoutrements, pumped up the tires, and took it out for a 21 mile spin. It was really cooking, not PR fast, but fast. Then I got to the to of Canada Rd before Edgewood. The next two miles plus are all downhill, and with no wind I can easily hit 32 mph on one section and generally stay at 22-27 mph most of the way. Nuh-uh. Shave about 4-5 mph off that. Ended up with a time well below the average. Not the bike's fault.
The weird thing is that I swear at the Southern end of the ride, I was getting hit in the face heading Southeast. Then I turn Northwest and get hit in the face some more!
Still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

I was thinking about how hard it will be trying to regain my mediocre fitness at this age. Probably gain some weight, too. Already wearing my fat pants before this happened. 1st world problems

It looks like it's snowing.
