Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Better late than never is what my mom used to say. Good ol' mom.

Soon as I think of something cool I'm going to put some photo art on post #1.

Bikes: road, track, mtb

Went on an insanely therapeutic mtb ride rn. Just 45 min, enough to feel some wind in the hair. My head is all convoluted, afflicted you could say. 3-day weekend at home (potty training Lily) with little progress, plumbing issues we're troubleshooting, work on my mind with a busy EOM.

But it was great to get out for a bit after being home literally all weekend! I had considered doing some work while spinning on the trainer, but it's far too nice out for that

When my oldest sister was a little over 2, Mom and Dad left the (then) 4 kids with Dad's parents for a weekend. When they left, my sister wasn't potty trained. When they came back, she was. The old fashioned way - all stick, no carrot. We joke that she was potty trained but not able to sit.

BTW, this would have been around 1950.

“Well doesn’t that just beat the band.” Note mom never condoned beatings unless duly earned. Not.

I think I'm getting officially depressed. 23º with gusts to 20 mph and this:

Small victory today. I got my last clock set to CDT.

Same here. I'll be doing an upper-body workout (snow shovelling) today rather than riding.

That was one of many expressions that went right over our heads.

I was an adult before I realized what “trying to make ends meet” was all about. 😆
