Ah. And I didn't register your parenthetical until just now.
I have a Mitis and I would say it's definitely "night and day" difference to the Marmolada, which is of no surprise since that's the way Orbea designed 'em. I love my bike. Great climber, fast enough for my slow arse. Comfortable with carbon front and rear, but not mushy and slow feeling. Very nimble.
Is that enough cycling buzz words for one description?
In short, I like the Mitis.

^^^^ Thanks for the info.
What size are you and your wife riding? I only ask because I'm tall, so I'd be looking at a 60 cm frame in an Orbea, regardless of material, so weight will be fairly negligible as a factor in the alu/carb equation.
So the Mitis is a rank up from the Marmolada in terms of grade of aluminum used, correct? Is it stiff compared to the Marmolada?
The reason I mention the Marmolada specifically is that I can get one for a very attractive price (I'm stuck with the budget of a person who works in the non-profit sector - i.e. not a big budget at all), so I'm looking for best bang for my buck.

Thought I'd post up another picture of my Orca since I put the Eurus wheels on it. Just rolled over to 5,100 miles, the wheels have about 500-600 miles on them so far and I like them lots so far.
I really like the New 2007 Orca, but I also like the Cervelo Soloist carbon. Anyone with either of the frames I've mentioned let me know how they differ from the last generation Orca please.
Happy Riding...........

I have a 2006 Onix with DA. I love the Opal and if I ever get a new frame the Opal will be near the top top of the list. I love the tiger stripe paint scheme of the 2006 models. I live in the same home town of Orbea-USA so you see a lot of them here. The cool thing is that if you any problem with your Orbea here is it usually gets fixed in 24 hours.

After riding a hybrid for a year, I took the plunge and got my first road bike about a month ago - a 2008 Orbea Onix Dama. Since I wanted to go Campy, my LBS (FatCat Bicycles in Lake Worth, FL - you guys rock!!) set me up with 2006 Centaur components for a really great price. I especially like the older shifters - they feel better/more solid to me somehow and I can still dump the cassette (I may not NEED to but I love the idea of being able to - go figure.). We did upgrade to the UT double crankset and I am still playing around with stem length and handlebars; I am currently using Salsa Short-n-Shallow handlebars so my little girly hands can have a chance of reaching the brakes when in the drops! I am borrowing a set of SPD road pedals from my LBS so I can use my MTB shoes until I decide for sure what kind of road pedals I'll get. We don't see a lot of Orbeas around here other than the Orcas or Divas - those are obviously great rides but I sort of like the fact that the Onix models are not so common.
I may not BE so fast, but I sure FEEL fast on this bike. I am loving my Onix
BTW - Pics below are before the UT crankset and before the handlebar change.

I've bought my first Orca almost a year ago- awesome bike! Rode it until November until I cracked the frame at the seat post- don't ask how. I immediately bought a second frame that same day and had the components transferred. I've been riding the second frame since then. Meanwhile, the first frame has been repaired and looks better than ever- see enclosed. I'm going to build it up to be a race bike. So now I'm the proud owner of two Orca's.

Don't mince words
My husband bought me this for last Christmas:

I had some fork stability issues and my LBS stepped up, Orbea stepped up, and they offered me an upgrade:

They moved all the components from the old frame to the new. It's an amazing ride. I love this bike.

I was just speaking in terms of aesthetics
It's a nice bike for sure though. Wish it was mine. I guess I'm just jealous
