Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nah, any flatter than that and my pecker falls asleep! I'm not having any issues staying in position, even with my elbows relaxed. I need a saddle with either a little more padding in the taint area, or a relief. This saddle is like a rock in that area. I did also research that level saddle folklore on this site after reading several statement implying that it was law...but all the posts on here seem to indicate it's okay to adjust for comfort. If there's a deeper reason I'm missing as far as form or hip position, I'm all ears, but my noodle comes first!!

I'm going to leave this saddle on the coffee table for the holidays...for cracking open walnuts

Just got this in as a warranty for my system six. 15.2 lb with training wheels and a seat that weighs over 300 grams. A hair over 14.6 with race wheels, could drop it to sub 14 with my other wheels and my old fizik seat.

It's a shame that the higher end Cannondales come with Red but the low end ones aren't available with Rival.

Most shops will swap 105 for Rival (with a small fee). You could have a Rival equipped CAAD9 for around 1,400 USD... that's cheaper than most peoples wheels.

Wow you are correct, I never really looked at them, no I don't have a back problem I just like the feel, I ride a lot with my palms on top of the levers and my forearms just about resting on the bars when racing. I gotta drop them a bit though, you are right it looks kinda funny

That's exactly what I did and I've been riding my '09 Rival-equipped (other than '08 Red crank) '09 CAAD9 for a few months now, it's good stuff.

It's already been in a few threads but here's my rig:

I'm just saying that Cannondale should do this for those who wish such a setup -- it's be one less extra step.

Steerer tube will be cut when I'm sure of the height. I'm also going to leave a little on top just so I can resell it at some point in the future. Seat definitely stays until race season, and possibly permanently, it's just so comfortable.
Another thing to note is that those weights are with an aluminum bar stem and seatpost.

A little more comfortable and it seems like it's a little more stable on the downhills, but we'll see how much of that is new bike syndrome. I've only done 200 miles on it but will be doing 120 tomorrow and then 60-70 the next day, so that will give me a good idea. The nice thing about it is all the parts are a direct swap from the system six as in just moved them over, same geometry, same position, same wheels, etc, so it really gives me a picture of how the frames differ.

'03 caad 7

I had stripped most of the parts off this bike to build up another, but I couldn't stand not riding it. Bought enough bits on ebay to get it going again. Size 54 and feels a tad small (not thrilled with the paint design either). Have been looking for a CAAD 8/9 in 56 recently.
