Our basement is such a stie. Actually all those boxes piled in the back are from Christmas deliveries so they will go out with the trash on Tues. The basement is basically where we put crap and I work on my bikes. Well my home theater is down there too...that room is sparkling. LOL

Of course since you're only 15 years old and have probably never been taught any manners in your short insignificant life, you're clueless. Here's hoping you learn to at lease keep you mouth shut when your opinion isn't wanted or needed.

Bringing this back up. I finally got mine outdoors yesterday and it is nearly perfect. The only issue I have is that I mounted the Ergo levers a little low on the bars...oh well. The ride is great, nice and stiff in the BB but compliant over the bumps and be it the CF the zerts or the design but vibrations are just about non existent. Great bike.

Enjoying all the pix of Roubaix's (and Rubys)... I'm just wondering if any of you considered the Specialized Tarmac instead which seems pretty close but has more "racing" geometry - shorter head tube, shorter wheelbase, etc. Did you notice a difference in test riding them? I'm asking because these are on my short list of frames that I'm considering...

I considered it but honestly didn't even test ride the Tarmac...and they have an 05 in stock I could have gotten for a song. I was looking for the relaxed geometry so the Roubaix just seemed like the right choice. If I ever decide I am going to race (would have to loose 40-50 lbs bofre I would consider that) I will get another bike and purpose build it for racing.

i didn't... but then.. they don't make a women's tarmac! i also wanted the comfort position vice the race position! we tried the "race" position first on my ruby... to severe for me! then we did the comfort "flip"... better!

i like all the stuff they built into the ruby (roubaix) to make it a comfy ride!

Here's my 05 Roubaix Pro, matt black with red accents. It's a D/A 9spd setup. The only thing that's 10spd is the 7800 brake which is stiffer and stronger than the 7700 calipers. FSA Compact Pro cranks with FSA Platinium Pro Ti BB. SRAM PC-89R hollow pin chain. Easton/Velomax Orion II wheels. I got it built right around the new year. It has about 200 miles on it so far. It rides like a dream. Moving from a custom Steelman and a custom Airborne Zepplin, this Roubaxi is lightest bike I've ridden so far(16 lbs including pedals). It's comfy, but accelerates faster than than the Zepp. Zepp feels too soft when I'm hammering the hills.

Grasschopper, your 06 Comp in Team color is very nice looking. I think I'll get an S-Works roubaix sometime next year. That red/black color is driving me nuts.

Bay Area has been raining a lot lately, I haven't had any good riding days lately. I'll still try to get out on my Roubaix as much as I can.

for 2006 it will be equipped with tune wheel quick release, look hsc5 sl fork and itm 100mm -10 degree stem and if budget allows carbon wheels.

as it sits, it weighs around 14.5 lbs checked on kitchen scale and bathroom scale. Its not really accurate but it gives me an idea.

after the new additions, it should be around 13.9-14 pounds and with the carbon wheels around 13lbs.

I could save some 150-200 grams by going with carbon crank, but wont do that. I like the way my polished record crank look. I like polished alu. I was thinking maybe some tune carbon chainrings and upgrade the bolts, but will see. that with a fsa ti bb would save me like 100 grams.

but in the end i love how my bike rides in its current state so how much it weighs is not really important. the $ to weight ratio gets bigger as you try to shave more weight.

Not to doubt the claimed weight of your bike, but you might try going with something just a little more accurate than house scales, unless +/- 3 or 4 lbs isn't an issue. Mine is a stock "04" Roubaix Pro w/ Keo's and carbon cages and it comes in at 17.25 with an Alpine Digital Scale.

hehe I knew this was going to come up . I totally agree with you. the weight is not accurate but I just was curious. I think its actually around mid 15's. I will definetaly weigh with a good scale another time. from the feeling it is not so bad. much lighter than the stock build for sure and will be even more after my additions later on. the size of my bike is a 52cm. don't know what size you ride. I had a fondriest 51cm before alu with similar build and it weighed 16.9lbs. now this bike is much lighter.

Hey, glad you didn't take offense, none was intended.

I had a mid 80's steel Specialized Allez that kind of rattled me to numbness, so what sold me on the Roubaix was first; how smoooooooth it was, second how it just took off when you jumped on it and third was how quiet it rode. I really expected my old bike to come in over 25 lbs, but it came in a little over 23 lbs. So there is only a 6 lb difference between the two, but it FEELS like 15 and there is no comparison in ride.
