I am thinking about getting the Moto Ti with SRAM e-tap or old school DuraAce. Any input on either model? Motobecane Le Champion Team Ti Sram-e-tap Motobecane Le Champion Team Ti Dura-ace-9100 |
Older Moots with newer parts. Rides well. Great welds. Sorry about the mis-matched rims.

It's got just a few miles on it... Splurged on this after my old-ish Ti-Sport had an altercation with a moving vehicle last October and ended up with a questionable looking crack in the seat stay. Just got the wheels in from Light-Bicycle so there's my new gamble. They seem well built 25mm wide x 45mm deep with Sapim blades and 240 straight-pull hubs.
I mismatched the drivetrain on purpose. I like Shimano except for their cranks. It's 9100 derailleurs and cassette (11-30) with last-year's Dura-Ace/Ultegra brakes. The 9100 disc brakes just aren't in stock anywhere yet. EC70 stem, EA70 bars, though I'm saving up for a 3T aero bar if I can find one to test. Cheap Chinese carbon seatpost for now. Specialized Romin Pro saddle. Needs one more link in the chain before I snap it forgetting that I shouldn't be shifting into big-big. It's not as light as my old minimal Ti-Sport was with downtube shifters and 9-speed Dura Ace, but it's faster, no doubt. I've lost more weight than this bike's weight since this time last year, and can lose another bike's worth before anyone can have any weight discussions about this build. https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2922/3...232106fe_b.jpg |
Dieselrover,
That is one sweet looking ride. Kudos, nice work. |
thats one swift looking Ride, one of my cycling buds has a Lyn not near that zoot.. but those sure are nice bikes.. i just got back from a bit of a spin on my vortex.... man, these Ti bikes are just timeless.. so glad i took the plunge.. heck i even like the Ka Thunk Ping.... of every crisp shift transfered along the frame,, i may be the only one who hears it but there is something musical in the tone.. mho... then again i may just imagine it.. anyway,, there sure are some nice builds on this thread.... any one hear those little notes when shifting across the gears? may just be my imagination....
nice rides all! |

Going in for a fitting/discussion tomorrow night about a Seven.
Looking for an Axiom SL with disc brakes, a SRAM Force groupset with Wi-Fli and a 11-32 on the back, thru-axles, and fork/geo to handle 32c's front and rear. We will see what is possible. I have been lusting after a Ti bike for many years now. |

You're running what looks to be the max amount of spacers, with a very long stem with a ton of rise. You could have gotten the same seat height, drop from seat to bars, and reach with a frame at least 2cm larger. Without a funky looking setup for the stem and bars. |

Rattle can? But why would you want to? http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...psedxwesal.jpg |
Work in progress.. 1x9 drivetrain should be enough for my NYC commute... maybe a 40T chainring.
