Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a second TI bike now and it is a Lynskey (Crosstown).

It is a commuter, but might end up being a Cyclecross bike one day.

I love this thread. I'm not going to say "whew what a beauty" to every new post because I have yet to see one that I didn't like. So take it as said. Carry on.

This is my Seven Mudhoney. Since they're full custom, I got to pick that it was a mudhoney. I just kind of picked everything I wanted or didn't want and then in the end picked which model name that I liked the most. I use it for commuting all year round and there's a pretty big hill on the way to work, which is why I wanted to disc brakes, they're pretty nice.

Finally!!!

I bought all the components separately and it sure took me a long while to gather all of 'em. This is the first time I did something like that and it is very addictive!!! The seatpost that is on is a Thomson. I'll be getting a Bold Precision one when I have the $$$. I know the bottle cage is a bit weird but don't blame me. I ordered ti cages from wiggle and this came in the box. Will be getting the good stuff soon. The steerer tube has to be trimmed down but that will be during the next couple of weeks.

All in all, WOOHOO!!! I've waited too long for this day but now I have to wait again as I just injured my back doing weights. Damn it.

New build on the way, I have been searching for a Merlin Works CR for a while, and then snagged this off of eBay buy it now, I am really impressed! Very similar tube shaping as the Merlin Works and still maintains a fairly traditional look. Full build pics to come, waiting on the Edge 2.0 fork...

Also need to post my XACD commuter/rain bike....for another day

Build is done for now...such a smooth ride!!! Not quite as stiff as the CAAD9 but not very far of, and many miles more comfortable. Build is SRAM Rival and Ritchey Wet white cockpit.

That bike looks really nice. The TT shape is very cool. Mine is 2005 and it has a more traditional tube shape for the TT.

Bikes: seven Axiom SG, Spec Roubaix Expert Di2, Trek DS8.4, Trek Sawyer

Spent some time today going back over the evolution of my Seven Axiom over the last couple of seasons. A classic Ti frame is a great canvas for creativity

"Out of the box" - how I bought it from the LBS - Race X Lite wheels, Bontrager Hard Case tires, Selle Italia saddle, black decals and bar tape, stainless cages

Last year - My "Blue Period" - Easton EA90 Aero wheel with blue GP4000s, blue tape on Ritchey WCS bars, black decals stripped and replaced with outline white, Performance carbon cages

Started the red transformation at the end of last season, with red GP4000s on Ksyrium SSC SL wheels (replaced those today), red/black Fizik Arione CX saddle, Bontrager carbon cages, FSA K wing compact bars with red Hudz and white tape. Found a great end of year closeout today at the LBS on a set of 2009 Cosmic Carbone SLs, and had to give them a shot

Very nice. I like "Red". I'm trying to visualize it with the black or red decals on there.
