Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have posted my new/used 2001 Litespeed Clasic elsewhere. I have added a few touches of "bling-bling" such as the red Selle Italia SLR saddle, Fizik microtex red handlebar tape, a new DEDA stem and handlebar, Salsa Ti qr skewers, red stem cap, and custom stem spacer, handlebar cap ends and other small touches.

Here are some pics:

Bikes: Wife: Trek 5200, C'dale Rush Feminine, Vitus 979 Me: Felt S25, Cervelo Soloist, C'dale Killer V500, Miyata Pro (fixie)

Though not technically a "road bike", it's used on the road 90% of the time:

The handlebars and bar ends are also titanium:

Absolutely blingtastic. You've given me some ideas about redding up my red themed Ti. so far only tyres and bottle cages.

Mothers billet metal polish, dremel, elbow grease and about 80 hours.. I think I found out why Lynskey charges $2k to polish em. Once polished, it stays like that. A little windex and repolish by hand for 15 minutes every couple of months.....Smooth surface cuts way down on drag and has increased my average speed...

Looks great! I have a yellow saddle and yellow tape on my Classic, but it doesn't look nearly as good. I'm probably going to switch over to a black saddle this winter so as to avoid mismatching the tape and saddle with different shades. (The saddle has seen some pretty hard use any way.)

Is that a steel fork?

Your gearing looks like something I have. We have a few hills here in Colorado....

Still need to do some trimming, cutting, and put/switch in some detail pieces... but should remain about the same.

BTW, anyone know of good ways to remove lettering on alloy Ritchey stems?

Update edit: better pic in the sun this time, and lettering on stem removed... still waiting on some parts.

yes it is. i used citrus strip. couple applications and leave for several hours... decals scraps off with an old ID card like eggs off of a nonstick pan.
