I am exactly the same height and weight as Lance Armstrong as posted on the Tour de France site.....and that's where the similarities end!

Also, keep in mind, in the fat US, the average for 5'10'' is probably 190 good or bad. Even 'heavier cyclists' look skinny in real life.
But for cycling? sure it's great. just don't get in any road rage disputes or you might get swatted like the fly you are

5'7" @ around 162lbs currently.....would like to get down to 145-150 or so.
Back in my "peak" cycling shape in my late teens/early 20's, I was around 135 pounds. I used to be much quicker up hills than I am now. When I get back within 10-15 pounds of that, I'll be happy. I started out last summer at 180 pounds after not doing much of anything for a year after a shin injury (preventing me from running), so I took cycling back up. Riding up hills 45 pounds heavier kinda sucks. I've shed around 20 of those pounds, and obviously it made a noticable difference. Another 15 pounds, and I should be fairly content with that.

Sigh. 5'6" and back up to 190lbs. OK, I did have my leg smashed into multiple parts by ans SUV and my brain kind of forgot I quit exercising - and I kept on eating. But hey, the 18" titanium rod has to count for something, right? Right?!

5'8", 142 lbs. I put on 15 lbs since last fall when I hurt my knee... and actually... I haven't been weighed a single time since I started riding again (finally!) after more than 6 months off the bike. (two months of that I could barely walk)
My weight last summer was 127 lbs.... I've lost a little bit of size around my waist, so I've probably lost a few pounds.

Back in tha day: 5'11", 145
Now: 5'11" [not surprisingly], 185
My waist size has only gone up 3" in 10+ years, but I "filled out" alot. I've lost a little upper body muscle since winter, but gained back some of it in the legs.

5'8 141... when i got off the bike today. Weighed 149 after a half box of angel hair 4 days ago. Ridden twice since the 149 though. So what was LA's height and weight last tour to the poster above? Also, what size bike did he ride I wonder.

1.) I don't mind repetition so I haven't gotten bored of the healthy meals I switched into my diet.
2.) Every time I plateau'd, I made changes to my routine. The human body adjusts to its situation so if you do the same workout every week it knows what to expect and it adjusts itself to stabilize on that expenditure of energy using the similar number of calories you give it each week. So when you see that stabilization happening (signified by no weight loss week after week) it doesn't mean it's time to get discouraged but rather a time to switch up the routine and trick the body. I switched from biking mostly to lifting weights and biking less. Then I switched to lifting weights, running at the gym, and biking to the gym. Now I run some days, bike others, and lift weights. A plateau is a great signal to up your mileage, too. And a good excuse!

Good luck to you. I wish you all the success in the world.
