PC as of now, iMac Core Duo next Spring. The thing just works.

Shimano

Macs are definitely NOT all show, if you're saying that, you've never used one.

Anyways, to break the trend, Mac and SRAM (all the way, MTB and road).

PC and Shimano. Might go with the Dura-Ace group on my next bike after all, but with a Fulcrum crankset.

Fulcrum cranks?

Avalanche325 04-17-07 03:52 PM

PC and Shimano.

Everyone should be Politically Correct. Plus, I didn't even know that there was a company called Campagnolo that made fishing reels.

CrimsonKarter21 04-17-07 03:52 PM

There's a thread about it somewhere "Campy made in Taiwan?"
They're the same as the Record and Chorus, IIRC.

DiscoStu 04-17-07 03:53 PM

PC (easier to tweak) & Shimano (readily available bits & pieces - also easy to tweak).

Type iNTJ

voltman 04-17-07 03:57 PM

Oh snap.

I'll bite.:D

I don't know about "nothing more than", but their higher price point is based on look and feel, not functionality. The OS is not easier to learn or better than Windows, it's just different. In terms of programs, Apple falls way, way short in terms of product development, which pays the bills in my house. Mac is nice, conveys a certain image which is important to some industries but will always be a niche player - not that there is anything wrong with that.;)

OS is easier if you havent been imprinted with windows bull**** your whole computing life.
I rarely come accross a situation where I cant find a mac program to do a task, in fact.. ive never been stumped yet.. and that is using them at home and in the office.. (accounting software, industry specific software etc.)

Macs are so much handier, I feel like I have to jump through too many hoops when I jump on a pc.

Mac and Shimano

Ryleeryno 04-17-07 05:08 PM

Linux and Shimano

Both and Shimano - mainly because Shimano dominates the OEM market.

Have you used one? Seriously. The OS is *that* much better than Windows. It actually runs without crashing (I know, crazy idea for Windows users). I use PC's all the time for work, and have built about 30 of them over the last few years, but they really do suck in comparison.

They have fewer software titles, yes, but I have yet to not be able to find something when I need it to do something.

In the end, you get what you pay for.... Both with SRAM and Macs  They just blow everything else away in terms of performance, but you pay a bit more for it (my opinion...).
