Mac and Shimano, but I don't care about Shimano, it's just there. My Mac is an extension of my mind. It is a creative hub. With it I surf the web, blog, create web pages and podcasts, edit music and video, process photographs, design pages and posters. I carry it everywhere, usually on my Shimano equiped bike.
Macs are clearly the choice for the creative. PCs are for accountants, dentists, and boy gamers. PCs are for businesss. Macs are for life.

Now, let's talk about God, or something easy.

Mac (Powerbook G4) and Campy ('07 Chorus).

1. I have used and continue to use both, personally, I don't think there is much of a difference.

2. Pro-E, Solidworks, Alias and Rhino do not run on Macs. Those 4 programs probably hold about a 95% market share for new product development. Cobalt (the most popular NPD program for Macs) is absolutely worthless, you cannot develop a new product with it. All of Apple's products were developed on PCs (I love the irony). If you eliminate PCs, you will stop hundreds of billions of dollars of the GDP, they are irreplaceable.

True, but you could always get one of the new ones and have both options :) . Viva la Boot Camp!

Maybe I am lucky, but the PC I use does not crash more often than the Mac I use. I run the Adobe suite concurrently with the modeling programs I use without any problems. What I like the most about the PC is the ease to upgrade the ram and video card, something not as easy with an Apple.

Why would I go and pay some guy to tell me that I'm angry, overweight, and repressed? I know that already, sheesh!

pc vs mac, who cares? I support Apple since my wife works there, but all computers suck since they were all programmed by humans.

Campy, however... there's just no argument there. Anybody that doesn't prefer campy has either never tried it, is too cheap to pay for the better things in life, or has wierdly shaped hands such that they prefer the shimano hoods better.

True, I haven't done that yet, I probably will when something craps out. I would worry about rendering speed on a non-native OS.

Boot camp lets you boot natively into either OS. Parallels is a software package that lets you run them simultaneously. Still native.

Yeah, it could be I have bad luck, but I have no end of problems with random crashes with the ones i've had/used. I've had 2 different Mac laptops over the past few years and they've both been rock solid. I only started using them again about 2 years ago, but they've been amazing, hence my defense of them :) .

And SRAM.... Viva la SRAM.

Really? I am no computer geek but I thought the hardware was built to optimize the OS. I could be completely wrong about that though. Rendering something that is clear or translucent can takes hours, there is no way I would ever want to increase that time.

Nah, it was designed using the same board/chip/RAM/VGA design all PC's use as far as I know. Only difference is that they put something (again, don't really know what....some kind of physical chip) into the board that the OS verifies is there so that you can't run OS X on any old PC.

Apple still wants to think they're a hardware company with. Which i'm mostly OK with because their hardware is solid, but it wouldn't hurt if they opened it up a bit.

Thats because you are a graphic designer. As an engineer, I would never be able to do what I do AT ALL on a Mac.

I dumped the PC a year ago and I gotta say, I don't miss it at all. The Mac works so much better. I have really been wanting to try out Campy.

Mac Mac Mac (freeware Mac programmer) ... and Shimano. Can't believe anyone with any sense would put up with windows ... Linux, ok, but windows ??? For cripe's sake it takes 5 minutes to boot !

Not true ... I'm an accountant in a very senior position with one of the largest manufacturing companies in the US (Sales over 40 billion) ... I use a Mac for everything. Office apps, Lotus Notes, etc. Stereotype just isn't true.
