Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Whats truly odd isn't the size of solbrothers bike, but the bike to car in background ratio. Do you lay down in order to get into the white car?

Hey, what's that hiding behind the Gazelle?

Don't be shy now....

Ah, there she is. My new race sled: 08 Cervelo Soloist Team.

I'll finish building her up with Red over the weekend and take her for a spin. And I'll post some pictures from an actual camera rather than a cell phone.

Nice Cervélo. However I'd have slapped on an ergo handlebar instead of a classic bend. But that's more my personal preference

What's with that seatpost? It somehow just doesn't look quite right just below the saddle. Got a closeup of that?

I think those bars look more than fine. Not only are classic bends more pro but also my preference.

looks like an aero-to-standard seatpost adapter (my guess)

Thanks. Yep, Harun is right. The Soloist comes with a reversible seatpost head. You can flip it around and effectively change the geometry from 73 degrees to 76 degrees, and voila, instant TT bike. When I build it up I'll take a close up and show you.

And, yep, I'm not a fan of ergo bars. These are Ritchey WCS Shallow Classic bars. Light, stiff, and comfortable.

Newbie here in Tucson. Super excited about my new 2009 Cannondale Six 6. Can't wait to ditch the stomach bug I'm currently battling and take her out for a spin. It's like she's taunting me right now.

Lol, yeah. My girlfriend and I have a bet about how long it will take before the bartape looks like it's growing its own bacterial colony.

My pleasure. It's an '86 Champion Mondial AA, with a 10-speed Campy mix. Dutch Rocket indeed: still my bike of choice for the local hammerfests which feature flat roads, heavy crosswinds, and horrible pavement.

And she's been raced a few times. Here's us sneaking around to steal a prime from a guy on a carbon superbike at Cherry Pie last year.

Very pretty bikes,

And very nice bike you have. Mine was in blue, not the candy red. Built with the short lived Mavic SSC group, though not SSC rims, they were GP4's. I certainly regret letting that one go.

Thanks for the memories, M

I thought I would post my humble ride. It's not quite as high tech or extraordinary as most of the rides in this thread, but it's nice enough for someone like me on a tight budget.
Just added the FSA carbon crank and Aspide saddle. These frames are surprisingly stiff and light.

Sweet Schwinn. Is it me or is your chain a bit short?
