Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My latest addition to the stable. Built it up last year and just now having some great time with it. Need to get fitted and get a more comfortable seat.

My guess is Moffett, too.

Some years back, my uncle went to the airshow there, and it was being broadcast locally. The TV crew had a "man on the street"-type guy walking around and talking to the spectators, and he happened to talk to my uncle on the air at one point.

TV guy: "What's your name and where are you from, sir?"
Uncle: "Dave, from San Jose."
TV guy: "What brings you out here to Moffett Airfield?"
Uncle: "I'm here to watch some airplanes."

... duh...

Bh g5

Well I haven't seen one of these posted yet, and for some stupid reason the forums decided you shouldn't be able to search a two character string like BH or G5. But anyway here is my fast ride:

I didn't want my first post to be in this thread, so I'll make it my second...

This is my first true road bike (bought it used). I had a Trek 7.3FX previously.

2001 Lemond Tourmalet - Pretty much stock except for the 105 FD, Mity8 (borrowed from the Trek), Silver Fizik Aliante, and of course the Soma Road Flare bar end tail lights.

Saddle is about an inch higher and stem is about a half an inch lower than when this pic was taken.

Nice... I definitely want to do the swap from 1" threaded to 1 1/8" threadless setup eventually so I can do a carbon fork and a pick my stem height/angle.

Therefore I choose a colour combination that reminded me of my childhood favorite, Hot Wheels, I love it and gives me tons of happyness from just looking at it to the comments I recieve while out riding it which have always been wow!

Your headtube might have something to say about it, I've got a 1" fork in there.

Doh. I was looking at adaptors that allowed me to use a 1 1/8" stem with the 1" threaded fork and confused myself.
