Why so crazy about Felt bikes?
#26
My Felt was an awesome value. I got the F35 a few years ago with Ksyrium Elites, Ultegra brakes/shifters, DA derailleurs and cassette, FSA carbon cranks for $1800 which could not be beat at the time. Plus I really liked that bike shop. 10,000 miles later I still love the bike even though I got a new Kuota with Easton carbon tubulars.

I've had my Felt FC (same frame that Slipstream was on last year) for about 3 weeks now. I love this bike! I have other bikes that cost more, and might be considered blingier and higher end, but this Felt is just a pure race bike, it's stiff, jumpy and fun to ride. I think you'll see Felt get a huge push next year when Magnus, Zabriskie and Millar are riding Felts. For the poster who thought Felts were noodly, check out the F1 Sprint, it will be out in the next month or so, it was developed for Magnus Backstedt, I don't think you have to worry about flexing a frame more than him, unless you weigh 300 lbs.

My new team is sponsored by Felt, and they're a very supportive sponsor.

Bikes: MTB Agressor for now.
I have the lowerbody of a 5'7 person but the upper body of about a 6 ft person. I have the thin tall torso that when you wear shirts from certain brands theres a side that is brought out because of how tall and thin my upper body is. Although I don't have the longest arms barely get the reach of 5'9 on the tapemeasure.

Felt makes a solid bike that rides very nicely, the company supports racing, and the brand is just esoteric enough to not be another Trek/Specialized/Cannondale/etc. Just my theory.

Nothing wrong with Felt. A buddy of mine has an F4, and it's a nice bike. For the same price point, most other bikes were all 105 or less, and he's got almost all ultegra with some 105 thrown in. Great bang for the buck, and a nice looking bike as well.
Not to knock the big guys like Giant, Trek, Cannondale, and/or Specialized, but in my opinion it's also fun to have a bike that not EVERYBODY is riding. On most big group rides, you can't blow a snot rocket without hitting a Giant or Trek, but Felt is one of those bikes that other riders want to check out. That won't necessarily make you any faster, but it's nice to have people admiring your machine.
My favorite bike: my bike. Fits me and it makes me happy. If Felt can fit that bill for you, it's a great option.

F75 owner here. I adore my Felt. Also, I'm another one of those "long torso, short legs" people. I'm 5'9" and ride a 52. It's a great bike for the money, and it feels good. As someone (I think on this forum) put it, "Felts want to go fast." Once you get going, it wants to keep going.

Yes, we're in a roadie forum, but here's why I love my Felt B2:
1. FAST FAST FAST...
2. Great bang for buck factor. I've done very little in terms of component updating, or upgrading. I've done brakes, and a bigger chain ring, and new wheels.
3. Very high sexy factor! EVERYBODY looks at my bike when I ride by, or if it's parked at the coffee shop. I've even heard comments as I've passed or ridden by people. It took me a little while to get used to, but I'm adjusting..
4. Finding a bike that fit my 6'4" frame has been tough. The B2 works for me. Maybe this should be #1? I can get steep and aggressive w/o my knees being in my armpits.
5. AWESOME CUSTOMER SUPPORT!! Being deployed overseas limited my choices as far as LBS's went. A call direct to the headquarters, and a brief rundown of my situation got my cracked S22 not just replaced, but UPGRADED to the B2 for no cost, and no questions asked. They had the bike sent out before I had mine boxed. And... I had several emails responded to in rapid fashion by Bill Duehring. I got the pro treatment and I'm just a grunt doing time... Amazing group of people. Maybe this should be number 2?

The F series bikes are very stiff yet comfy. Elitists like to say the "commoner" road biker can't feel differences in stiffness, but I beg to differ. I can't imagine anything stiffer helping you out in a climb or sprint. The felt F series frames are at the top of the curve in the law of diminishing returns. I have the bottom level F series, the F4C and it is phenomenal.

I hear this particular myth all the time.
I'm 5'8 and ride a 56 F30.
-------------------------
not really a myth. check the geometries on their website and you'll see why Felts (well at least the carbon road bikes anyway) fit long (and not necessarily 'freakishly long') torsoes. I have a long torsoe, and my felt fits me better than high end carbon frames from any other manufacturer.
iI am 5' 10" and ride a felt team carbon frame in a 54cm. If you are 5'6" and on a 56cm I'd have to say either YOU have a freakishly long torsoe or...... well, then you are REALLY stretched out. or your bike doesn't fit.

Bikes: 2007 Orbea Onix TDF,2008 Orbea Orca in Red
When I was looking to buy my first road bike 10 months ago I asked several shops and riders and mechanics etc etc about Felt bikes, most of them say that is not a "great" bike but a decent one, anyways I bought an Orbea Onix and recently traded it for an Orca after I even post a tread here Felt vs Orbea and Orbea won by a nice margin.

I'd rather side with the felt riders, they are more avid about thier bike than any other riders on different bikes. I think within a few years they will be one of the better brands.
