Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Aloha,
I have a 2012 Colnago Master X-Light. After an accident and a six-year layoff, a bit of corrosion to the chrome led me to have the bike repainted. While it's nowhere close to the original (or even what I designed - I couldn't afford the price for the custom artwork), it still looks rather good.

If I'm not mistaken, your German "house brand" is actually a Colnago. The head tube/down tube lug in this picture distinctly shows the Colnago Ace of Clubs logo. Very nice bike indeed!

The clubs cutout is not unique to Colnago... although it is seen by many as their unique trademark.

The card suit motif has been used by many builders through history.

I'm no mathematician, but something's up with those numbers...

Did you mean a 2002 and not a 2012? Because if you meant 2012, I'd love to borrow your time machine...

I think the white is perfect -- it's not balanced so much as there's an exploding burst of white at the front. Really love both the Breezer and the Rodriguez -- but then again, if you find my bike back in the depths of this thread you can see I'm a big fan of the royal blue/white combo.

Thanks for the compliments, folks. I was on 3rdGen's wavelength for a bit, thinking not to go with a carbon stem, but a UD carbon bar to echo the crank and post. However, with the white alu FSA Wing Pro I have on there now, the effect is, well, tranquil. Looking down when on the bike, I have the sense of a unified, systemic look, rather than something technical and perhaps busier. I like it. Probably a black carbon bar or stem would look good, too, but I'm pretty much out of money anyway, so I'll let those slide for the time being!

I definitely like your white stem and your overall Venturi. From the vantage point on the pic above, it even makes more sense to have the white stem. As you correctly state, it looks unified and harmonious. Keep it!

After taking AP Music Theory in high school, earning my bachelors degree in music education, and teaching music theory I'd hope I could spot a messed up clef.

Unless it's a C clef. Those just shouldn't exist.

Yes, despite the modern saddle, the Marinoni still looks like a classic, vintage racer! Nice!

Put a Silca frame fit pump on there, and man, you'll get some street cred from the older heads (like me)!

Main triangle is Reynolds 631. I think the rear stays are Cro-Mo. 1" threadless carbon fork (alloy steerer). It has a touch more saddle-to-bar drop than the pic shows...but I'm still hoping to ditch a spacer or two more and then have the steerer cut. The bike is a touch flexy in the BB area at times (out of the saddle, etc.), but I like it overall. Feels a little heavy with my winter/rain wheels - but the ride is pretty lively when running these SL's.
