Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Vibration absorbers work on (tennis) racquets. I don't know if they work on bike forks/seatstays but they look ugly, IMO.

I've always thought the marketing blurb for the Bianchi Fremont as B.S.:

"Fixed-gear road bikes are great for instilling a smooth pedaling cadence. The problem has always been creating such a bike. Now there’s an easy solution: The Fremont is a first-of-its-kind fixed-gear road bike, built to enliven your training rides right out of the box. Its top-quality aluminum frame and carbon fork ensure you’ll get more mileage and enjoyment out of turning the 48x17 gear. And a pair of dual-pivot road brakes helps you slow down even as you pedal nonstop. Experience pure pedaling efficiency and make yourself a better rider."

Eh, not really. They change the sound of the ball hitting the strings, but they do not absorb any of the shock from the frame being transmitted to your arm.

Carbon cages.

My friends that play tennis will disagree with you. One of them tried cutting the inserts off of his racquet to prove they did nothing and ended up buying a new one when it turned out they did.

Not oval, but close, and usually off by 90* from the standar oval ones. Sheldon Brown has a nice short article on them.

Yeah, I thought they were a joke too until I tried without them. That was not a fun game.

As mentioned SHeldon has a nice explanation. Biopace bombed. Funny though....at the time they were all I wanted. I actually used to dream about getting the group that I just yanked off of this bike....

Shimano 105 7spd crank with Biopace chainrings from approximately 1988(ish):

Came from this bike....

Carbon cages.
What racquet(s) have you used them on? I've used them on Head Prestiges and Wilson Pro Staffs with different strings and string tensions and they make a difference. The string bed is less lively, which some people like and others abhor. For comparison, I am curious about your setup. Also, I play USTA 4.5.

Carbon cages are for bling...they don't have to serve any practical purpose!
