I am an American who happens to love Canada and I am still trying to move there....getting a visa is a big production though, even though my company has an office in Toronto and is willing to transfer me. Nonetheless I will be visiting next weekend and cannot wait.
Cheers,
Brian

I always confuse Canadians with Americans when I first meet them. When they tell me they are actually Canadian and not American I say that you're pretty much the same thing to the rest of the world and I can see by the looks I get that that cheers them up.

Spiderskin tires are puncture proof and low resistance rolling. They grip well on virtually all surfaces and are superior in fast turns. What I like most about the spiderskin is that it's made of recycled flies.

Uh... They haven't hunted the whitecoats (baby seals) or used clubs in many years.

Actually, Canadians have mostly a friendly attitude to individual Americans and enjoy visiting the states, but at the same time are a little suspicious or resentful of the USA as a whole since it's 10 times as populous, wealthy and militarily strong as we are, and there's always the niggling background worry that if we don't go along with US demands we could be the next Viet Nam or whatever. As well, Canadians tend to feel smug about our universal health care. I'm sure our attitude is similar to the Scots' attitude to England, or how the Austrians feel about Germany or the Portuguese about Spain.

I've spent a good chunk of time in Canada (all over), and I've never once found anti-American feelings in person (in fact, I've found a couple ladies that were decidedly pro-American in my younger years!). That may mean they're just a little passive aggressive, since you see/hear a lot of it in the press. However, I tend to think it's just the press making a tempest in a teacup. They've always been gracious hosts.

Yeah, I'm sure . That's why so many Americans abroad wear red maple leaf logos.

And suspicious? IMO, only the liberal media is suspicious. Sure we have some mutual differences but by God there is NO other country in the world that I would rather share a 3000km border.
And for all the friendly slagging going on in this thread between Canucks and Yanks, let's remember that we represent two of the finest liberal democracies in the world, Australia and the UK being the others, and collectively remain the envy of the rest of the world.
BTW, the cycling season warning for Ontario & Quebec is ended.

Yes, as a Canadian I'm resentful of the American's liberties. I resent they're being held more accountable for their own actions/choices. More free to make life's choices. Here in Canada, our nanny state strives to be all things to all people from cradle to grave. Hence more taxation and less liberty.

Y'know what I hate about Canada, specifically Toronto? The hamburgers. Why are they so chewy? And yes, I mean Licks and Harveys. And no, I don't want ketchup and mustard on my burger. What's up widdat?
edit: And how come I can't get a good pizza there? Don't get me started.

^Pure propaganda. And incorrect. The whitecoats are not hunted, and haven't been for years. Old videos and old photos continue to be used on these websites to generate sympathy and money. They lie, simple as that.
