I frequently rode in my hometown as a kid with temps in excess of 110F.
Of course, it was a dry heat. Give me a nice hot dry day over anything even remotely humid.

i'm happy when we hit a high of 55! we had some snow last week..
lots of heat does suck, which is why seattle's 80-85F summers are some of the best around.

Correct.
We did a 90 miler Saturday morning. It helps when you start early when outside it's still cool.
It may just be an instinct reflex but I wouldn't want to start a ride on a hot day when sun is high up.

Now if you're generating a 20 mph breeze what's not to like? Maybe you So Cal types just don't have enough heat to cope with...
You can measure the humidity here with a ruler, it's that thick....

i moved here about 8 years ago from the UK, here are my tips:
Hydrate using electolytes. I found water was not enough.
Freeze water bottles before the ride.
Pour water on yourself.
Keep moving, air flow helps.
Think about the poor folk who are waiting for snow to melt/ rain to stop.

Sunday, I rode out to La Jolla and enjoyed the cooler temps. It hit the mid 90's in the afternoon
I'm glad to be home today.
