Simply because that’s the back door of the shop. It’s just a tradition; it has its own twitter hashtag. No real aesthetic reason. We took a lot more photos throughout the build, but that was my favorite.

Sweet bike, I especially like the colour you picked for the bar tape.

But unfortunately, it's not "hot".

To be "hot", you'd need to pick one or the other, silver or black, for the seatpost, stem, brake calipers, & drivetrain; probably needs some featherweight carbon aero wheels and tyres w/tan sidewalls; and then it'd have to be a super-high-quality magazine-quality photo.

Lovely bike, though. :thumb:

It definitely has potential, but the bar tape and rear brake cable need straightening out, and the drivetrain needs a good scrubbing before the bike is ready for a glamour shot. That bike should be crisp and sparkling, not lumpy and dull.

They look great on CF wheels, but unfortunately the color fades, and it looks bad when you have to replace 1 tire because then the colors don't match.

The bike looks great.

Nice bike but not a fan of the shifters and the crank arms should be horizontal to the ground.

Ultegra 8020. Super comfortable but I completely agree with you on the aesthetics.

Not. Given the stack height, stem mounted up, and the shifters higher than the saddle, leads me to believe that this bike may be the wrong size. Or, you may be better off with a comfort style bike. JMHO
Cheers

I rode one size bigger and smaller before settling on this size. The Roubaix is an endurance bike and you are correct it is set up for more comfort riding than racing. The stack height is more about the goofy future shock set up than personal preference.

I figured I would get flamed for the hideous turkey neck seat post, but nothing just yet.:D

I think the Gobbler is pretty much a known entity at this point, like a seat post turned backwards, the biggest challenge is the proportional lol of the shifters seeming to be twice the size of the bars. Ah well, comfort breeds joyfully long days in the saddle!

Too many not hot things about that bike to cover in one post.

I don't think it's much of a choice with hydro brakes and mechanical shifting.

Reminds me of a hot chick with a big nose. A face only a mother could love.

Even the shimano Di2 hydro stuff is huge. The sram from what I have seen is slightly smaller. I have heard the campy hydro levers are about the same size as their mech brakes. I have big hands so the larger shifters work for me.

I think some of problem might just be the photograph. I’ve see those levers on bikes in the shop, and they don’t look early as bad.

The Roubaix is a strange looking bike, but from what I’ve heard, it rides nice.

This is a showroom stock, mass produced bike. Not Hot

While not a huge departure from stock, the wheels, cranks, cassette, and brake rotors have all been upgraded. It is a Roubaix Comp disc.

To me it really has an odd look to it. I certainly agree its not a traditional hot road bike. But it does fit me well and rides nice.

Thanks for all the comments, good and bad.:)
